    wide world of sports question

It once had grand plans.. WWOS once had some really grand plans. The World's Largest Foot Locker was to be built adjacent to the All Star Sports Cafe. Those plans just went by the wayside. Not sure where they stored it, but WDW did buy the Olympic Veledrome from the 1996 Atlanta Olympics...

Whatever happened to the Jerusalem/Israel Motion Simulator?

The simulator was removed soon after the conclussion of the 2000 Celebration. The building was gutted, re-carpeted and some new service walls built. I remember hearing the simulator was "off the rack" and was leased. Not sure though. I personally liked the Eggs.

New Show and Question for American Gardens Theater

The Summer Series is always a great draw for Epcot. In 1999 and 2000, is was Micheal Flatley's "Lord of the Dance" that performed each summer. In 2001, it was the "The Power of Blast." I am sure whatever makes it onto the stage this summer will be good. They have also taped a Country Music...

The Odd Epcot Pager Guide Device!

From time to time, various iniaitves have taken place like this. PAL Mickey is just the latest form. During the F&G and FIRST USA events at Epcot in 2000 and 2001, ideas were played with on an interactive pager system.

    Hall of Presidents

The Speech usually is the same, it was for Reagan and Clinton I think. The new process takes usually a few months, with serious input from the President's family. Laura Bush selected clothes to be used. The last changeover in 2001 took longer since the election outcome was contested. It...

Anyone know where the DRC is in Orlando?

DRC is in Orlando is located in an office park off of Sand Lake Road, East of International Drive. You would not know it from the outside of the building of course, since it is pretty plain. No descriptions on building. WDW owns several wharehouses and in the area, away from property.

    Xena!

Oh, this is true Grizz. The production took place just to the west of the MK, back near the land fill. They had a production trailer at MGM. The area was not really secured, save for a WDW Security van on the road to the area.

    Discover

Not sure where you looked, however here is something from a Guest services page for Epcot. Credit Cards Visa is the proud sponsor of the Walt Disney World Resort. Traveler's checks, cash, JCB, Diners Club Card®, Discover®, MasterCard®, American Express® and The Disney Credit Card are also...

    Odyssey restaurant at EPCOT

During F&W there are dinners, demonstrations, etc. in there. The room is very dreary when not being used. It does dress up nicely. While working at Epcot, we hosted cast member events, private events, (Dolche Gabana, Lockheed Martin, etc). I think they still have a mother's day brunch...

    College Program

Wow. Christine Price is still running the show over the housing complexes. And to think that she comes off nice. But I had a run in with her, she can be harsh. I remember when she did not own the management company and you could still go over her if you needed to. The WDWCP is going to be...

Cost of Renting Parks for Private Party

Park Events While a CM I worked with Epcot Events (Conventions, Catering, Creative Ops, Signature Events, Special Events, Media, etc.) and we handled this daily. In my entire time at Epcot, we only closed the park, and I mean the entire thing, early once. That was for a huge Travel agent...

Turnstile/Entrance Construction at all 4 parks

I talked to a Main Entrance manager last night with Epcot. He mentioned that the most almost all of the tickets will require biometrics in future, and that this is as good of time as any to change that main exit point at Epcot. No longer in the Center.

    Christmas Parade cast extras

If you are a castmember at a park, I would suggest contacting the Film and Tape team at the park. When I was with Epcot Media, we would have a rough idea of taping a few weeks out and then nail it down the days and hours before. If it is something requiring a staged audience, i.e. Baha Men, we...

    epcot living christmas tree

I think the Processional is one of the greatest events at Epcot and WDW. While I was working in events at Epcot, I had several years of running the House operation of seating guests and ensuring all went well. It was truly awesome. The hosts were fantastic. I think my favorite was Phylischa...

    Golf Courses

I would try 407 WDW GOLF. They should have an updated list of on goings. The Courses are all great. Palm and Magnolia are likely a bit rugged right now as the Funai Classic just ended 8 days ago. I always enjoyed walking Oak Trail. I also enjoyed playing over at Celebration. The course...

Lights Up on our Favorite Dark Rides!

A few Holiday Seasons ago we had the Epcot Salaried and Office And Technical Cast Member Holiday party in Tomorrowland. It was a nice gig with a one hour time frame of Space Mountain being available for us to ride with the lights on. It was truly a unique experience. Made me want the lights...

Disney Attraction Sponsors (or Lack Thereof)

I think that a lot of the "loss" of sponsorship has to do with the economic times. However I will say that at Epcot at least there is a team that does nothing but look for potential sponsors for both products and corportations. They assist with both pavillion deals and smaller deals such as...

    test track corporate lounge

Lounges GM's lounge is great. While I worked at Epcot Events, it took an act of God to get into the lounge. Not really, however you did have a protocol to follow. The lounge is really nice and kept up really well. There also are other lounges that are still sponsored by a corporation...

Filming at Epcot Sept 23rd to ???

Filming I have a unique insight to filming at WDW, Epcot moreso as I was the Media Rep. in Epcot for about 14 months. On any given day there is some type of filming going on across property, which is why they parks all have some reference to possible taping inside by the front turnstiles. I...
