Potential Major Hurricane Idalia Possibly to Impact Central/Northern Florida 8/29

We are pretty dry in the western suburbs of Jacksonville. been watching this one for a few days now - currently looks like rain and winds - not tropical storm strength. That remains to be seen however.

Is attendance really down at WDW this or…

On vacation last year (Florida people hiking in Colorado….and we enjoyed it) we stopped in Target to pick up water and snacks. First thing we saw was a big Disneyland tickets sign. We thought it made sense since Colorado is closer to California, but then WDW is the ‘larger’ resort….

Is attendance really down at WDW this or…

I don’t know how busy it is right now - but I was looking for reservations next weekend at Disney Springs for dinner, and we had our pick of restaurant, they all had availability. Last year -same time (we go after dropping our youngest at UCF) I couldn’t get reservations 30 days out.

Disneyland "Sunsetting" annual passes, WDW next?

This is probably quite true. we have (myseof, wife and youngest daughter) have been four times since the parks reopened for a total of 10 days. We are planning another trip next month, which would only be two days. One thing that has changed for us since we started regularly visiting in 2003...

A sequel? Nah, not this one

WDI needs to adopt an Agile methodology - the transition would be slow and difficult but the results could, if done correctly, be amazing. This is the methodology that Spacex is using quite successfully. It does require a very involved and knowledgable management team, however....

Grand Floridian to Magic Kingdom Walkway

My wife and I would. we used to (before the current mess) walk/jog through Saratoga Springs, Disney Springs, to the Port Orleans resorts, just for some exercise before hitting the parks, especially when it was just the two of us going to Epcot for food and wine.....

News Disney Park Pass System announced for Walt Disney World theme park reservations

I just tried to get park reservations for my family next weekend (August 29 and 30) using our AP availability. Only park available was Epcot. Booked our room (Disney Springs area) and were able to get any park. Since we live in the Jacksonville area we prefer to not do day trips anyway, but...

    New AP Sales Speculation

Those are amazingly good points. I grew up in Florida (Jacksonville area - Orange Park), and still live here. It wasn’t unusual for us In the 80’s to visit my grandmother in Dunedin for a long weekend, then pop over to Disney for a day at the Magic Kingdom or Epcot. I have watched the parks...

On layoffs, very bad attendance, and Iger's legacy being one of disgrace

I still remember ticket books and purchasing additional books after we got in the park. My first single day ticker I purchased for myself was Epcot in 1986; I believe I paid $14.95. later, in the mid ‘90’s, my wife and I paid around $27 for single day single park tickets. First trip with our...

What effect has Covid have on the 50th anniversary

While this thread might get interesting, we don’t yet know what the state of the world will be by October 1, 2021. A ‘normal’ pandemic would be dying out by May/June of next year, vaccine or no. Now, we know this isn’t ‘normal’ so we cannot say for sure. Also, what will the economy be like...

    The Red Button Option

true, but my wife and I are looking at a trip in October an cannot find a room on property for less than $191 + parking (Pop Century!) per night (we live in Florida and drive). We can get our choice on Hotel Plaza Boulevard for half of that, or in Bonnet Creek for a good bit less as well, so...

News Magic Kingdom July 2020 reopening reports

I didn’t see anyone get turned away, but the signs do state that you will not be allowed in with a fever. Getting in is quite easy. There are several people with temperature scanners, they point them at your forehead, and tell you if you can go in. After that is bag check then park entry.

News Disney's Animal Kingdom July 2020 reopening reports

We just left Animal Kingdom after day two of passholder previews. Since it was raining all morning, we didn’t get there until 8:30, and the park as very empty. The longest wait was early at Flight of Passage, but everything else was pretty much walk on. After our first ride on Kali we were...
