    Pool hopping

I don't get it. Let's say you stay at a "value" resort. You decide to haul your family to the Poly. So you get up pack a bag (or do you wear your swimwear on the bus?) wait 20 min for a bus. Ride bus to the MK (closest park to Poly) (20 min) get off bus walk to monorail (10 min) wait for...

    Bars - over 21

On my umpteenth trip to WDW. This time all my "children" are of legal drinking age! With the long gone demise of Pleasure Island my question is this: where is the best "fun" bar scene for my "kids"? Is there any over 21 bars/restaurants in WDW? Obviously we'll be cruising around the world and...

Do you take your kids out of school?

I worked for a district (upper-crust) that had an epidemic of parents pulling kids out at crazy times during the year. The response from the district? Teachers were not to provide work to take on the trip (why should they plan for one kid? when plans change daily) but the district didn't want...

    Arrival Day at your Resort.....

Always take the first flight out and we're on the ground by noon. For my family we usually like to start with EPCOT. I usually make dining reservations somewhere there for the first night (and usually EPCOT is open later). BUT! if we are on a monorail resort we'll start at MK.

    Favorite Character Interactions

Characters meet ups back in the dark ages.... you could just stumble across characters - no lines, handlers... fun. My daughters were 3 and 5 we were in EPCOT Morocco pavilion and turned a corner and Jasmine and Aladin were just sitting on a bench... the girls got lots of hugs and we got great...

    Coronado Springs or Port Orleans

I've stayed at both resorts. POFQ has the nicer "theme" in my opinion, but CS has it's merits as well. If you choose CS ask to be in the building near the lobby. It's a quick walk to the main bus stop. (figure out which direction the bus travels around the resort to determine the best stop...

Best resort room for 5 adults

Hi, we are traveling to WDW nest year. We have a new son-in-law bringing our party up to 5. I've looked at several different room types and wonder if anyone can give some advice. We've stayed at the FW cabins with 6 and that is an option, but we always like to try a new place so that's on the...

    Hs backlot

The poor ride is but a shadow of it's former self. The "ride" consists of a quick glance inside the costume department, a ride past some old vehicles, the canyon and a behind look at Lights, Motor Action. We only went on it because it was out of the rain!

    5 days of fun!

    Hs backlot

Hi forgive me if this has been answered.... I just got back from wdw. We went on the sad remnant of the backlot tour. The "guide" never spoke! The entire tour was a corny tape! Very sad. I asked a cm when they stopped the live spiel and he said "I can't tell you that. I can only say an...

Viewing Illuminations from Rose & Crown

We did the Rose for viewing it was great! We made reservations around 7:45 and lingered over dinner, they do let the "interior" patrons move onto the terrace for viewing but they had to stand in the isle and not block any tables. (But I do agree that way too much emphasis is put on "perfect...

To ban or not to ban....

My parents took our family (10 people) a few years back. My folks are total turtles... slow... my bro and his wife have very young kids (5,8) and my kids are teens. So big conflict ... I just told everyone I'd make ADR for one meal a day - we'd meet and eat and alternate days with the turtle...

    The Dreaded Tour Groups

We had a crazy experience with a group on TOT. The kids (teenagers from the good 'ole USA) were screaming and whatnot as we reached the part of the ride prior to the decent the lights went on and the "voice of Oz' told the kids to sit, behave, stop making hand gestures and put away their...

What to pack for a trip in mid-December?

I have a few funny photos of my family in hats and gloves in EPCOT one Dec. On the other hand we were there in November it was beautiful up until our last day when temps fell and my daughter was caught in a tank top!

    help

We went with our teenage children the crowds were something to behold! Since we had older kids we burned the midnight oil and stayed late. Make dining reservations well in advance. That alone was a blessing. (plus it felt kinda good to walk in wait a few minutes and get seated before the crowds!)

Upgrade to deluxe? I feel bi-polar

OMG you sound just like me! I was ready to book CSR or Riverside but my kids have always been in a moderate resort and really, really wanted to stay at one of the EPCOT area resorts. The difference was a couple hundred but I ended up booking Beach Club. (I really hope they like it!)

    ft wilderness questions

We brought along some easy quick breakfast foods since you have a full kitchen (plus the maid does your dishes!) We loved the cabins! Once you figure out the busses.... We stayed there when River country was still open - that was the best pool option!
