News Contemporary Refurbishment--April to Sept 2021

It looks a little like a prison cell or the location where brainwashing occurs in a dystopian future featuring an all-knowing world government. I wonder if the closets come with pre-fitted shiny jumpsuits instead of bathrobes. Blech.

    Worth the hype?/Unpopular Opinion

Our one experience there, about 9-10 years ago, was marred by probably the worst service we have ever suffered at a WDW restaurant.

    Worth the hype?/Unpopular Opinion

We spent 10 days at WDW last summer, eating at least one full-service restaurant each day. At the end of our trip, everyone agreed that Homecomin’ was the only restaurant that we absolutely must do the next time around. (Though Sana’a, Le Cellier, and Skipper Canteen were also hits.) The food...

Is Primeval Whirl on the way out?

Good riddance! The sooner, the better.

Space Mountain hurts me too much to ride it again until it's repaired. Anyone else feel this way?

Not the first time this has been discussed on these boards over the years, but it’s still nice to be reminded that I am not the only one. I will say that I am far more fit, thinner, and healthier than most people my age, yet Space Mountain at WDW is still a miserable experience for me, causing...

Club runDisney is a new membership program offering benefits at runDisney events

"We are so committed to health that we are evicting McDonald's french fries from our parks. Now, please get fit and pay us $300 to run a race. Also, the 1,500-calorie caramel apples are $12. You're welcome."

Club runDisney is a new membership program offering benefits at runDisney events

Just shameless. Though extremely well organized, their races are still far more expensive than can be justified. They will do anything to make a buck.

    Coral Reef Restaurant Opinions

We ate there in January for the first time in well over a decade, having been kept away by the generally negative reviews and our less than overwhelming prior experiences. This time, almost everyone considered the food very good (some rated it the best meal of the trip), but the service was...

News Disney to offer discount on new MagicBand designs as an optional alternative to complimentary solid color MagicBands

Ban (free) straws, but keep generating plastic junk that turns a profit. What hypocrites. But, hey, TWDC gets praise for following the latest environmental fad while people keep shoveling cash in their direction, so it’s a win-win.

Are the feelings for the Yeti unreasonable?

Here’s the thing... As Marni said a few pages back, the yeti’s immobility is emblematic of a corporation-wide attitude that prioritizes profits over guest experience. It’s cynical and disrespectful, especially when the company is flush with cash and prices keep rising, almost daily. And this...

News Fix the Haunted Mansion Intro Timer

It keeps costing more and more, while the value and quality are rocketing downward. Too bad that the managers are more beholden to bean counting and crowd flow than to show, one of the few things that distinguishes Disney from all the other high quality theme parks around the world—or used to.

    Sanaa for Breakfast?

Ouch! No thanks! In general, I am opposed to “you get to cook” restaurants, but this this clearly goes to far.

4 Walt Disney World Resorts to accept dogs

With respect, this is a curious assertion, coming from the perspective of someone who is clearly obsessed (and aren't all of us on this board, to some degree?) with a company and a resort conceived in human ingenuity, built by human labor, maintained through human industry, and dedicated to...

4 Walt Disney World Resorts to accept dogs

It's not really about which "behaves" better than the other, but rather recognizing the inherent value of a child, regardless of its behavior, over and against that of a dog. Once we have lost that perspective, humans everywhere will be (and are) treated with less than their full measure of...

What are you most excited about from D23 2017?

Even though I enjoyed both Tron films and voted for the Tron ride, I have to admit that this is well played.

Do you get the feeling universal is one step ahead of Disney

So true. As far as effects and animatronics go, The Matterhorn is now by far the best "Yeti" ride Disney has to offer. That is a crying shame and a serious indictment of the maintenance and guest experience priorities of TDO.
