Rumor Figment, well, to be replaced by Figment

Like a lot of original EPCOT Center, the main point was really to inspire vs. educate or entertain (though all 3 were pillars). It was forward looking, not to get the future right. But, to get people hopeful and excited. That runs into problems with tech-focused pavilions like most of FWE...

Rumor Figment, well, to be replaced by Figment

I totally agree. And I think he has broader appeal than they were thinking. I was at Epcot with my friend and her kids (5 and 8). The favorite was GOTG. Second... Figment. Not because of the ride, but just because of him. Bringing back something like you're describing - and being a true...

Rumor Figment, well, to be replaced by Figment

The great irony I see is, of many Disney attractions, the use of screens and projection mapping (along with physical sets) would actually lend itself well to the idea of the original attraction. For example, if you turn the Dream Mobile into a preshow, have people load in the Dream Port...

Rumor Figment, well, to be replaced by Figment

I would forgive a lot of Disney sins personally if that were to happen. Not putting a dime on it, but just saying.

    News EPCOT Parking Plaza refurbishment?

I think it would be a pretty easy fix. Love it or hate it, they could easily do an arch in the style behind the Walt statue, using the triangles, or any number of designs - and it would do wonders. Plus a good, old-fashioned cleaning/refurb, as you noted. They aren't really going with stark...

News Big changes coming to EPCOT's Future World?

I understand your sentiment. And I think you may have nailed it right here. The big issue is the amount of time, energy and hype that has gone into the park. To create something that seems fine or nice enough. I agree there is a lot of rehashing. The challenge is, for people who really...

    News EPCOT Parking Plaza refurbishment?

Those look nice. I do wish they would enhance the marquee a bit more (and just clean it!). But, I'll take the incremental progress.

News Big changes coming to EPCOT's Future World?

Given the current center of Epcot, I'm not sure discussing "lining up" is appropriate for a family site.

News Big changes coming to EPCOT's Future World?

I'm going with "World Carbonation Activation Adventure: Bob's Tiana Bruno Refreshment Center... sponsored by Dasani.". Use of "Center" evokes the true spirit of Epcot.

Transformative Multi-Year Expansion Announced for WDS Paris

"Hey Alexa... Create a generic Disney Park..." "OK..." Yeah... this name is pretty terrible.

News Tiana's Bayou Adventure - latest details and construction progress

I finally got to pop over and see everything in person (daytime). I have to say it's not gelling for me. It does feel a bit chaotic and mishmashed. It does really stand out in Frontierland already (not in a good way and more than Splash admittedly did as well). And, the signage for the ride...

News Big changes coming to EPCOT's Future World?

That is very true. Though, for those of us who have been around for awhile, we do get pretty intense at time. (And that's for all of us on "a side".) Any time we are coming with that intensity can alienate people with valid opinions. I do think it's always helpful to self reflect from time...

    Moving IaSW to Epcot?

I agree. Sadly, with the waterways and the underpass there, it would be a massive infrastructure project - unless they built the show building right next to/within UK. That roadway and the dip under the water there is pretty necessary.

News Epcot Forever to debut as interim show before full Reflections of Earth replacement

No clue. I didn't bump it. I think it may have just been a new member thing. :) From what I've heard, Luminous is actually doing decently well.

    Moving IaSW to Epcot?

I thought that, too. It would also be weird be possible at International Gateway, but you'd lose the full UK expansion plot. I mean, if Christine had stuck around - they could have used WoL, adjusting the narrative to talk about small waistlines...

News Big changes coming to EPCOT's Future World?

I'm not against the Muppets in Epcot, if done properly. I think a Muppet-esque PIM's Test Kitchen that blends a bit of actual food science with Muppets food science (into weird, inventive dishes) could be a nice addition that works in a balanced IP Epcot. (Unlike Regal Eagle, which feels like...

I know it's a massive thread bump from 3 years ago... But the point is still valid... 😁

    Moving IaSW to Epcot?

That would be the most logical (from a physical standpoint). I'm just not sure it would be the best fit - even with modern Disney's lack of caring on that front.

    Moving IaSW to Epcot?

The only reason I would see any chance of this would be to open a bigger path to the Beyond Big Thunder loop. But there are better, cheaper options. Part of the challenge is there isn't a really great place to put it in Epcot, either.
