    All to Yourself

When I was a Cast Member at Epcot during my first year of college, I forgot my keys in my locker at the park, so I went back to get them, and when I got there it was 2:00AM, so I decided to walk around World Showcase. The lights and music were still on, but I was the ONLY person there...

    5th gate

There aren't enough e-rides at AK and DS as it is. I would much rather see more capital put into those parks (and the others) than another attraction-thin park. You know what I mean?

Walt Disney World vs. Dubailand (from MiceAge)

How come nobody has mentioned the most important thing: IF Dubailand is successful, it will surely prompt Disney to counter it with new attractions! And that would surely mean new e-rides and other very impressive additions! That's what competition is for - so bring it on!

Why is DAK so far away???

I was looking at satellite images of WDW and noticed that not only is DAK at the very, very, very edge of WDW property (so that the "real world," including houses, etc., are practically across the street, and you can see off-property utility poles from the DAK bus stops) but there is a huge...

    Shooting at Wet and Wild

I've always been very concerned with the lack of real security screening at Disney, because when something like that happens at Disney it gets 1,000 more bad press than anywhere else, as we all know. Let's just hope Disney learns from this before it's too late, and perhaps there is some way...

    Safety at Disney

Disney is a bit safer than the Rutgers campus, though. Physically isolated places, especially areas with entry fees (the parks) are not going to have as many random criminals walking around as Newark, NJ. Of course there will be people who go to WDW for the sake of pick-pocketing, etc., and...

Orlando is the Nation's 25th most dangerous city

There is a $1.50 public bus from the heart of downtown Orlando to the TTC and back, every half hour during the day. It's odd to think that anyone could get on that bus so easily and just be right near the Magic Kingdom, walking distance from the Polynesian. Sadly, I once saw a very tattered...

    Everest - Comparisons

You can see far out across WDW of you look behind you to the left on the main lift, so it "feels" very high. The top of the building is 199 feet, but of course you stay several feel lower. The "big" drop is, 80 or 80-something feet, but it doesn't have much airtime because it curves to the...

    Quick 8/17/06 Epcot Park Update

They actually can move the chains around in the indoor queue to use it all for green if they need to. However, they are never supposed to have a longer wait registered for green, so that no one who would otherwise choose green chooses orange just because of a shorter wait. That said, in "phase...

Funny things people say at WDW

I think it's more that they act on habit after the same conversation thousands of times, so she is used to people not saying the size, and thus automatically says "what size" after each order.

    Nemo bad for Epcot?

Even though it has changed in recent years, Epcot has remained true to it's "reality-based" themeing, seperating it from things "Magic-Kingdom-ish." It seems to me like the introduction of these Nemo-themed attractions is a major step toward a VERY changed Epcot. Will the introduction of...

Woman airlifted to ORMC after riding Mission: Space

Was she really intoxicated? I did hear that she was feeling sick al day, but not that she was intoxicated. I'm a Mission: Space cast member, and I left an hour or so before it happened, but another cast member who saw it said she was stumbling down the exit corridor but said she didn't want to...

Woman airlifted to ORMC after riding Mission: Space

Yes it has. A lot less people are getting sick and disoriented after riding orange, because many of those who would have are choosing green.

Is WDW's Soarin better designed than DL's?

Also, by the way, I assume that it would be very safe to assume that the eventual film change for WDW's Soarin will be toward a theme fitting more closely with The Land, such as over wilderness areas around the world, which, by the way, would be much better theme-wise. Obviously.

Is WDW's Soarin better designed than DL's?

That's what amazes me... DCA has a lower daily attendance than Epcot, and the capacity for Soarin was already a problem there. It seems insane to allow such a low capacity e-ticket in Epcot... as an Epcot CM, I have heard a LOT of guest complains about the wait for Soarin, and a LOT of guests...

Body Wars back for the Summer???

Isn't the Busch Gardens Williamsburg ride "Curse of DarCastle," or whatever it's called, based on similar technology? Or am I way off? By the way in terms of Wonders of Life, my fellow Epcot CMs, who have been here much longer than I have, say that we would have been told if Wonders were...
