    Poly vs Wilderness Lodge

Oh yeah -- And I forgot Dole Whips on property at the Poly !! It had been my 3rd time at Disney and FINALLY I had time to get one (or four) since it was so convenient !

    Poly vs Wilderness Lodge

I stayed at Wilderness Lodge in 2014 and Polynesian in 2017. Here's my opinion on how they stack up : Park Access : Poly. The boat from WL is nice and convenient too, but you can do either from the Poly, and the monorail is so Disney to me. And being able to walk to TTC for the Epcot...

My Unpopular WDW Opinion - post yours!

what ! how is that possible. I do like the vanilla swirl one better though. I think Animal Kingdom being the least favorite park is probably a pretty popular opinion -- But for us , it's our favorite ! Enchanted Tiki Room is boring as Heck.

Pop Century vs. Coronado Springs vs. Animal Kingdom Lodge

If you enjoy animals , then IMO if you are just spending time in the resort all day - it would be AKL hands down. Also the restaurant line-up there of Boma, Sanaa, and Jiko is unbeatable . Since you mentioned your friend will be visiting Hollywood Studios and Animal Kingdom only , I wanted...

    Animal Kingdom Table Service Recommendations

Tusker House : "Join Safari Donald Duck and friends at this colorful Harambe marketplace eatery for a wild Character Dining experience regardless of time of day—from breakfast and lunch to the family-style dinner buffet—all brimming with African flavor." It's a good choice for sure. But...

    Disney for 4 days

I would do HS as the short day , even as a Star Wars fan. I feel like there just isn't that much to do there at the moment to justify any more than ~5 hours, assuming you FP+ properly. We usually do TWO days at AK (but shorter ones ~5 hours each), so definitely don't agree on that one being a...

    Best Resorts

With kids that young, staying on the monorail is a HUGE convenience if you can swing it - my vote would be for the Poly. I love the relaxed island vibe, the big rooms, and the volcano pool and splash play area is awesome. Watching the fireworks from the beach and thus avoiding the crazy...

Recommend new places based on my previous enjoyment (Table Service)

I've done both Garden Grill & Akershus character meals at Epcot - if you want princesses, then obviously the later is the way to go. Overall I preferred Garden Grill though. I liked sitting in the private booth revolving through the Land Ride and having the characters just show up at your...

Using my mothers band and FP

I ended up doing this unintentionally on our last trip. My son is too short to ride Splash Mountain so my daughter rode first with her Dad and got a rider swap pass for me. Before I went to ride it with her using the RS , we discovered that we couldn't yet book additional FP+s using the app...

    Whispering Canyon Cafe

Fun restaurant at a beautiful resort. I think I had the meatloaf. I remember the food being "fine". My kids loved the antics with the ketchup.

    Hair bands on Everest

I assumed it was the same thing as the Bra Tree as well - and it's not just a CO thing, we have many at VT ski areas as well. Saw one at Jackson Hole WY last year too. That there's the same thing off the chairlift at Blizzard Beach kind of confirms it. I guess it's not as offensive if...

What Ride/Event/Show do you wish you SKIPPED with your children?

For me , Mission : Space. Not because my daughter was afraid - she had already been on it with her Dad, and now I was riding it with her using Rider Swap - but because I kept turning to check on her (not realizing how important it is NOT to do that), and from there on out I was just praying...

    Favourite Resturants

My favorites are ... Table Service - Jiko (#1) at AKL, Artist Point at WL, Sanaa at ALK, Quick Service - Flame Tree BBQ at AK, Cafe Tangierine at Epcot, Columbia Harbor House at MK Character Meals - Garden Grill at Epcot, Tusker House at AK, Akershus at Epcot Atmosphere/Fun - Sci Fi...

What is the right age (for your family) to start bringing kids to WDW?

For me, it's just as much, if not more, about MY memories of being there with my kids than it is about their memories. So to me, them not remembering the trip is not a good reason to not take them. I mean, long term, they are not going to remember much of ANYTHING we do before 5 years old or...

AKL - What are your likes?

The lobby, Jiko (amazing food), Sanaa (fyi - far walk from Jambo house), watching the animals in the morning while drinking coffee from your balcony, mousekeeping did a great job with arranging toys/towels into animals for the kids while we were out, quick access to Animal Kingdom.

Parents night out! Where to dine?

If you don't want to leave MK area, I'd suggest Artist's Point at Wilderness Lodge. If you're willing to go further, Jiko at AKL was the best on-property meal I've ever had, we loved it. Sanaa was good too, especially with the Savannah view.

    BOG lunch

I think they are both worth doing, tough call. What's great about BOG is the experience and ambiance. I agree with the others that the food was just Meh, so that's not the point of it. I would do the parade and try BOG for dinner. If you eat in the West Wing at dinner - the Beast shows...
