With further research, I think Exit 3 belongs to Florida's Turnpike, not to CFX. If you look at pages 10/11 of the following, you will see the $0.75 toll charge for that exit. But they still don't warn that it is unmanned...

Unmanned and exact change toll booths are horrible. They could easily add a credit card tap-and-go reader. Sorry to hear you learned the hard way, but thanks for sharing. Coming from outside the States as well, not sure how much change I'll have in hands. I don't really care about the 50 cents...
