    Resort advice

I agree on AKL (Jambo) - that's my favorite looking resort. Wilderness Lodge comes in a close second, and I love using the boat to get to MK. I found on my week's stay at AKL I was on the bus about 90 minutes a day, give or take, so that could be a consideration. You could consider a split stay...

    Wilderness Lodge vs. Boardwalk

I did a split stay at those two resorts on one trip and loved the different vibes each resort presented. It was almost like two different trips built into one. I hear you on the limits because of the free dining promo, but if you can swing it, a split is how I would go. Stay at WL for the days...

If you had to pick your 3 best TS meals in EPCOT WS...what would they be?

Another vote for Biergarten. We had a lot of fun there between the music and getting seated next to a friendly family. I'm a meat/potatoes/beer guy, so the food & drink was right up my alley. My daughter loves Teppan Edo. I think it's good too, but not really different than any other hibachi...

    Do you disembark in Nassau?

I wasn't crazy about Nassau, and if I was there again on a cruise - particularly a short cruise - I wouldn't bother. We did the Blue Lagoon dolphin swim, and it was OK. I'm happy to have done it, but I have no desire to go again.

Be honest... What do you think of my plans?

Also Rafiki's Planet Watch in AK. I couldn't get my daughter out of there...

Be honest... What do you think of my plans?

Will you have park hopper? Also, remember - it's August. It will feel like you're stepping out onto the face of the sun. Animal Kingdom is my kids' favorite park. I would definitely work that in - and I think there's a lot for the kids, especially the safari, Lion King show, Tough to be a Bug...

    1 Trip - 3 hotels. Am I crazy ?

I enjoy switching hotels on my Disney trips. It's not for everyone, but I say give it a go. As nice as it is to have them move your luggage, I might recommend grabbing a taxi or Uber and moving it yourself in the morning, leaving it with concierge, so that it's a) there if you room is available...

    Boardwalk Villas first timer

I had tried to get room 2123, 3123 or 4123 when I stayed there. They apparently are extra large one-bedroom villas with larger (and private) balconies. They are way down at the end where the building bends. If you don't mind the longer walk to the Boardwalk, maybe it's something that would...

    2020 Hotel Choice

If you're not interested in a split stay, then personally I would second what others have said and look to stay in the Epcot area. Pretty sure Boardwalk is a bit cheaper than BC, and I thought it was great there. Plus you can hit all the countries in Epcot for dinner each night too, and using...

    Thoughts on switching hotels?

I've done split stays my last three trips to Disney and I'm planning on doing it on my next trip. I mostly enjoy: 1) experiencing the different vibes the different resorts present in the same vacation - for example, the chillaxing feel of WL versus the bustle of the Boardwalk; and 2) being close...

    Split Stay Moving Day

I had Disney move my luggage on my first split stay and almost missed a dinner reservation. So on my other splits I just made my way to the next resort by cab/Uber in the morning and left luggage at concierge so I'd have afternoon access to it and didn't have to bring bathing suits to the park...

    First timers going in October

Make sure you stop by City Hall in the Magic Kingdom and get a birthday button to wear during the trip. (I assume each park has something similar - we got our daughter one at MK.) Beyond the constant "happy birthdays" my daughter got from cast members, she usually got something cool and...

1st Disney Cruise! Heck, my 1st cruise EVER!

I did a four-nighter back in late 2017 on the Dream - featured the premiere of the Beauty & the Beast show. It was really good, but so were the other shows we saw (Disney Believe I think it was called). But I wouldn't miss the B&B show. Four nights flew by... Some other random observations: -...

    Ghostbusters 3

I feel like most of funny ad-libbed stuff that made the original movie so great was cut out of the reboot to make time for more special effects. While I'm looking forward to this, if Bill Murray isn't a big part of it in some fashion, I'm not sure how good it can be. I think Ghostbusters II...

Universal Orlando during February break: what kind of crowds should we expect?

I went last February break, but took a few days before the break to start the trip, so we left the day before Prez Day. It was noticeably and expectedly more crowded once we hit Saturday, but since we had been there the previous 2 or 3 days it didn't hamper the trip. But despite the heavier...

Cinderella’s Royal Table - What say you?

I'm very glad I went, as I liked the atmosphere and the experience, but I think I'm one and done for CRT. My daughter was never huge into the whole princess thing, so while she enjoyed meeting everyone, it wasn't earth-moving for her. The food was good, not out of this world. We went before they...

    Is Boardwalk Worth It?

Can't beat the location and I enjoyed the bustle of the Boardwalk at night. My daughter also enjoyed the creepy clown pool slide. Just wanted to mention that our one-bedroom villa in Boardwalk was the same layout as the one-bedroom villa in Boulder Creek - maybe a touch smaller as the entrance...

Who else is thinking about waiting until 2020 or so to go back to the World?

Planning on Spring 2020 - but maybe the better play is to go this year pre-GE on a discount to get my fix and then wait until 2021 to see Star Wars. Yea ... no, who am I kidding? I won't be waiting that long to see it.

    Split Stay

Nice! I love the Epcot resorts for easy access to Epcot/HS, and dinners in Epcot.

    Split Stay

On all the split stays I've done, I've set them up by phone, and attached the tickets to the first reservation, which if memory serves has been usually part of a package. Second bookings have been room only, usually discounted via a Disney deal or Visa deal, though I usually add the dining plan...
