Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster to be Re-Themed?

OK, I'm going out on a far limb and tangent here... We all know Rock n Roller Coaster has been having these re-theming rumors for a while. We also know Tower is getting refurbished in its current form, thankfully!! It's too iconic to make over anyhow despite the Marvel makeover in California...

Beach Club - Stormalong Bay in Winter?

I am thinking of taking a brief (2 or 3 day) trip to Beach Club in January or February. This is my first wintertime trip. I know the water parks get rehabbed in the winter months. What about the hotel pools? Do they generally have times when they close? I looked up Stormalong Bay closures and...

    Phone crushed on TOT

Looks like we're going all-out 90s between all of these posts!! Between not having a phone in the park, using Comic Sans, and wearing cargo shorts, the 90s are back!! What next, Disney brings back Pleasure Island?

    Phone crushed on TOT

Now I'm busily making physics diagrams in my mind to try to explain this a bit...especially since the car itself is accelerating at a rate faster than 9.8 m/s in the downward direction.

    Phone crushed on TOT

This whole thing has me shaking my head at how someone could drop a phone in the first place on TOT and also has me concerned about people not enjoying TOT or any ride to the fullest. My first ride on TOT was in 1995. If you had a cell phone, it probably lived in your car and was the size of an...

Character autographs at dining to be cut

YES. I saw this happen last year with Gaston, who already is extremely busy as-is. However, the guy who plays him, as many of you know, is amazing at what he does. He was making jokes about them the whole time, then told the boy who had them, to the delight of everyone in line, to practice his...

Pay more, get less. When does it end?

I honestly think EVERYWHERE has gotten this way. Sometimes people try to blame it on all of us getting older, but I don't think that's the case. I like a good roller coaster as much as I did twenty years ago, for example, but just feel that in a profit-driven economy, so many companies are...

What's your maximum on ticket prices? An unscientific poll...

Another poster mentioned the amount of things to do outside of the parks. This actually reminds me of a trip I am planning in my mind (one of many; I have anywhere between 4-8 trip ideas going at any given time). I like all four parks. There's something special at each of them. However, I...

How many miles did you put on the shoes?

Some time ago, I took a pedometer with me and looked into this. The highest mileage total was in excess of 11. That was on a day when I began in EPCOT and ended at MGM via the walkway around the Yacht Club area. I don't have a scientific measurement of that walkway, but I believe that's over a...

Are the dining plans cost effective?

Ah, the old dining plan equation! When I took my trip last year, I planned far in advance and calculated this with an Excel workbook. I had two sheets, both with the restaurants I wanted to eat at (and ultimately made reservations for). One had what I'd get on the dining plan, one had what I'd...

A Terror-rific Spirited 13th (ToT fans have lots to fear)...

Do you think there will be any Tower of Terror announcements this weekend at D23? (I'm hoping not...they can't afford to lose that ride right now).

A Terror-rific Spirited 13th (ToT fans have lots to fear)...

Regarding the "oh, the change is impossible" bit... I think we also need to watch the tone of letters we write. I could write a heartfelt, three page letter on how ToT influenced my life's work because of the backstory, detail, etc. It would actually be true--one day in 1995 changed everything...

A Terror-rific Spirited 13th (ToT fans have lots to fear)...

Here's the thing...we need to take action if we want to save Tower of Terror, and we need to make it work so they can justify it. First, griping on social media does no good. We need to sign official letters and petitions. Everyone needs to buy ToT merchandise. It can be found on Disney's...

A Terror-rific Spirited 13th (ToT fans have lots to fear)...

I'm going to WDW this coming June. I'm guessing I should ride ToT as much as I can then and buy up every souvenir I can afford?

    Boating Options at Yacht Club?

Yes, the WDW site seemed very vague, so I figured you folks would be able to help. (Of course, isn't that true of a lot of the official stuff? I read my cousin's copy of Birnbaum's Guide over the weekend and it was just as vague...)

    Boating Options at Yacht Club?

Good question about the bike helmets!! I may toss one in the suitcase just to be sure. I've never rented a bike at WDW but since I'll be across from the Boardwalk and have a night without park passes, I may go for it. The Sea Raycers and Whalers sound good to me!! I may do one day of each!!

    Boating Options at Yacht Club?

I can't seem to find too many clear answers to this...so I figured I'd give it a go here!! On my first trip to WDW, my family rented a sailboat at Grand Floridian. This was in the 80s. Grand Floridian is a little too expensive for me right now, so I'm going to stay at another favorite, the...

Closing of Tower of Terror (WDW)

Precisely why I'm enjoying being on this forum and following this thread!! I've seen too many uncivil discussions about everything on other forums (including topics far more serious than the theming of Tower of Terror) where it turns into a war...

Closing of Tower of Terror (WDW)

It could work, although I'd keep the original premise of 1939 intact. Hollywood Tower Hotel is a landmark in the US parks, plus it would be more relatable to the US population. Use the original story, but get rid of Rod Serling. You could open it in a similar fashion to the Kirsten Dunst movie...
