News Tiana's Bayou Adventure - latest details and construction progress

Not to mention- WDI has really played into meta references and humor the last 10 or so years. Not everything needs to be meta. It's okay to just design something great.

News Tiana's Bayou Adventure - latest details and construction progress

Well, the only bright side here is that they're not directly speaking to the riders. So tired of the 'you're recruits!' trope in themed attractions. It was played out in Universal in the '90s and needs to die, yet Disney insists on shoehorning it into almost all of their new offerings.

Hasn't land around the resort been notoriously hard to aquire since the '60s for them? Not sure "let's just hope we can overpay in the future" is sound business strategy

This was a rumor, yes. I think it was @TP2000 that reported it? Or at least had a great comment about it. If I remember right it would have had a variety of cast member services like daycare, fitness center, and health services to improve working at Disneyland and would have likely attracted...

That wouldn't work... Disney's grooming and service standards are too relaxed for In n Out. It'd be harmful to In n outs brand.

    D23 2024 Rumors, Predictions & Discussion

Sure it's not an X Wing, but they just need to do the dang trench run. Dog fighting with Tie Fighters, then going in for the killing blow on the Death Star would be far more satisfying than trying to steal coaxium.

In another lose for the park, turf has been added to the roof of the old Briar Patch store. Yeesh.

I have to imagine the strength of the Toy Story brand as well as a few other properties is enough to carry it. There's enough Pixar merchandise that I can imagine them coasting off of their 2000's run is enough for an event like this.

Tiana's Bayou Adventure: Disneyland Watch & Discussion

These are something you'll float by in about 20 seconds. They're a nice diversion but not necessarily something that warrants a full Disney parks blog post. I can't wait to see the finished product, then go back over two years of marketing on this to see if they dropped the ball, or if the...

News Tiana's Bayou Adventure - latest details and construction progress

There's nothing wrong with the designers developing an elaborate backstory in order to help inform design decisions. If done well, this can help the attraction feel stronger and more cohesive. But it's not stuff that needs to be told to the guest beyond visual clues and strong characters...

    The Miscellaneous Thought Thread

Man, D'Amaro was Disneyland's golden child. He was loved resort wide, and by the fans as the anti - Chapek. But honestly, since moving up the ladder I've disagreed with almost everything Disney's done to Disneyland. And a lot of the D'Amaro era changes are going to permanently alter Disneyland...

    The Miscellaneous Thought Thread

Isn't it disheartening how many people take advantage of a system designed to help those who need it? I work in hotels- and the amount of fake service animals we see is incredible. People claim their pet is a service dog to bypass the pet cleaning fee.

Tiana's Bayou Adventure: Disneyland Watch & Discussion

I've heard the 'reskinned animatronics' theory for the Br'ers on Splash a few times over the years- but have never heard a credible source and I've spent more time than I'd like to admit hunting down information on Disneyland's Splash Mountain. I consider it a fun theory that's plausible, but...

News Tiana's Bayou Adventure - latest details and construction progress

Well, in the enthusiast communities I follow you would be surprised at what gets people up in arms. Heck, with vintage watches sometimes restoring or modifying the watch kills the value. If Disney did take a rare vehicle and modified it I could imagine it annoying people. I think it's more...

News Tiana's Bayou Adventure - latest details and construction progress

Out of curiosity, do vintage car enthusiasts shudder at stuff like this? Having antiques repainted and displayed in an amusement park instead of professionally restored and preserved in a museum? This is the sort of thing where it might be better to custom fabricate the vehicle if only to...

News Tiana's Bayou Adventure - latest details and construction progress

When they plastered this logo all over the construction walls I assumed it was a temporary placeholder in a misguided attempt to market the attraction. But I appear to have been wrong, and it's a permanent part of the attraction. But it looks woefully out of place. It looks like cheap...
