Felt the same way when I recently flipped through Richard Beard's EPCOT book. Sadly the people who helped shape things for those books are few and far between at the company.

Not sure if this has been mentioned yet or not (not that it affects much...) but the director James Gunn has more or less confirmed that there will be a GOTG 3.

Well, considering we could be looking at Toy Story 7 by that point...you may be right.

I could be wrong, but I read it as, once they decide they want to expand SWL, TSL would be on the chopping block for land usage.

Yes. They changed the name slightly when it runs through PBS here in the states. There are three "seasons" on Netflix, and I gather they don't line up with the same season numbers from the GBBO, but its the same show.

Am I way off base or did you find them equally...er...not good?

Actually...Haunted Mansion DOES have a story...but you have to listen to it independent of the actual ride experience. Its worth checking out.

....I'm ok having my perception lowered slightly, but they still at least put some thought behind it instead of just willy nilly.
