How many do but don't plan there trip.

We are going for 10 days this May. We were going to wing it as we've always done on past trips but decided to plan some just in case. We booked a few ADR's for restaurants we'd like to eat at, but if we cancel that's fine too. We aren't huge on having to dine at specific or fancy places and...

    Magical express flight changes

I put in our flight information for magical express for our May trip and of course the airline changed our flight numbers and arrival time slightly. My question is once you've put in the original flights does Disney automatically get flight change updates? Or do I have to call to change them...

    Confused

We've been having issues with differences between app and website and tickets not showing up. First issue was neither the app or website showed my ticket but showed the other two traveling with me, which was odd since it's all under my account and everything else show 3 in the travel party. I...

    Spring 2016 Discount Rumors

I just rebooked our May 10-19 trip for 3 at POR and saved over $750 between the resort discount and 1 day free on tickets...not going to complain about that as I was willing to pay the full price anyhow!

    Favorite Place to People Watch

People watching is by far one of my favorite things to do at WDW! There really isn't a bad spot to do it! Very sweet, touching story

    First time visitor to Disneyland...observations

After visiting DL for my first time in January I'd have to agree with the OP. It really was great but it didn't quite satisfy my Disney "itch" which is why there's a WDW trip coming up. I have to say that there was one big turn off at DL though and that was the fact that the city is all around...

    Tenting at Fort Wilderness

I'm not much help in the way of answers but I'm also interested in this. I know we did it a few times backs in the late 80's early 90's as a family when I was about 6-7 before we moved into a pop-up camper and eventually onsite hotels. I'm an avid backpacker and have thought about a solo trip...

    Does anybody still "wing it"?

Thank you! That makes me feel much better! That's basically our trip. No kids, very flexible, and going "off season". At least it used to be off season...begin/mid May...after spring break crowds and before summer break starts.

    Does anybody still "wing it"?

That's my worry. I feel from what I've been reading on here, they're making it so you HAVE to plan every minute of your trip ahead of time. I don't like the thought of that but I guess I'll have to come to terms with it. Thinking this trip I'll try minimal planning and see how it goes. Thinking...

    What would you choose?!

It's Disney! Splurge and do all three! My philosophy is to make sure I can do everything I want while I'm there...could be why my trip has become longer and more expensive! Lol but that's ok...its Disney and worth it IMO

    Does anybody still "wing it"?

Thank you! Good to know info. Still have 45 days until I can start doing anything if I decide to...a lot of thinking to do

    Does anybody still "wing it"?

My thoughts also. Fortunately we have no need to do the new or big things such as Be Our Guest. Having no kids makes skipping a few of these things a little easier also. We are all very easy going with what we do and don't do and really go to Disney more for the environment more than all the...

    Does anybody still "wing it"?

Lol yes it does keep going back to that! I'm thinking just a few ADR's to places we may want to go. We will know far enough in advance if we will use them or cancel them and avoid the $10 fee. We aren't huge on having many TS meals anyway so most our meals will be QS. Any table service will most...

    Does anybody still "wing it"?

These are my concerns also. I just don't know how much the crowds have grown since my last trip. I'm thinking I will be making some FP+ for the trip. If we use them, great. If we decide to go elsewhere, that's fine too. I understand that! This upcoming trip will be a $5600 one so I want to...

    Does anybody still "wing it"?

Yup, I pretty much have it under control. I just enjoy knowing how other people do their planning. It gives me ideas on how I can modify my planning slightly. I'm thinking you're right about making a few ADR's at 180 days. There's not really anyplace I absolutely have to do but there's I few I...

    Does anybody still "wing it"?

I agree with you on that. I've been enough times to know a lot of the ins and outs so having a very laid back trip will work for me. But some planning for a first timer I could definately see.

    Does anybody still "wing it"?

I think that is the key...being able to make changes on the fly. I feel so many people plan out the trip so much and so far in advance that they expect it to go exactly as planned. When it doesn't then they get upset and have a bad taste for Disney. For some it does go as planned and that's...

    Does anybody still "wing it"?

So you're not set to a really strict schedule. I do get that with crowds growing more and more I may need to think about getting some of the "must do" FP setup. How many days do you go for and what tickets? My upcoming trip will be 10 days with a 10 day hopper. I know I won't be in a park every...
