    News Disney Exec Resignation

In our later "empty nest" years, we would go to resorts without ever stepping foot in a park. We would spend a lot at signature restaurants and lounges, and yes, the resort shops, especially in the higher end mens/womens clothing shops in the GF. I totally agree that they've gradually but...

The piano player is back. The Orchestra, sadly, was let go and will not be returning.

Advantages and Disadvantages of Swan & Dolphin?

Joining late, but we've found the best rates going directly through the AARP site (even better than AAA). Even though you can choose the AARP code on the Marriot BonVoy site, you won't get the lowest rate unless you go book through the actual AARP site (which is powered by Expedia).

News Cítricos to reopen July 15 reimagined to the whimsy and elegance of Mary Poppins Returns

Total pet peeve of mine - kids sitting at the bar. We used to be Mizners regulars (we don't like the Enchanted Rose AT ALL), but would get so discouraged when one or two of the eight bar stools were occupied by children slurping on their lemonades. Meanwhile, we're dressed up for dinner...

The Swan and Dolphin versus Disney Properties

We were there over Memorial Day weekend, and they still required masks in indoor public areas, except when eating/drinking.

The Swan and Dolphin versus Disney Properties

But all the main restaurants (Shula's, Blue Zoo, Kimono's, Il Mulino, as well as the Cabana Pool Bar & Grille) are still taking the TiW card if you still have one that hasn't expired yet.

The Swan and Dolphin versus Disney Properties

We just got back from 5 days/4 nights at the Dolphin. We were there for a weekend in April, and had such a good time we decided to go back in May. Our stay was great - between the restaurants (both in the Dolphin and Swan), pool area, lobby bar and location, it was a perfect getaway. You'll...

Swan & Dolphin Dining - Thoughts?

We just came back from spending the long weekend at the Dolphin (after having just been there in April) and have to agree with the above comments. As we're foodies, we love that are so many restaurants between the two resorts. We always take seats at the bar (it's just the two of us), and...

    Riviera resort

Totally agree with the Enchanted Rose; such a mismatch for the GF. We too spent many, many evenings (and a lot of dollars) at Mizners, seated at the bar, listening to the orchestra just a few feet away; it truly was a unique and special place, unlike any other bar/lounge. They could have kept...

    Riviera resort

We haven't stayed there, but have gone to Topolino's a few times for dinner (we're foodies and craft-cocktail fans). We always sit at the bar - the bartenders there are terrific! And sitting outdoors on the rooftop patio is also very nice, although the outdoor bar up there still wasn't open...

Understanding Why Disney's Magical Express Is Ending

We just returned and had no problem getting an Uber. Dolphin Hotel to MCO request, only an 8 minute wait for a car.

    News Disney Riviera Resort announced

We had a similar experience: We had reservations at Topolino, but went early to look around and have a pre-dinner cocktail. We asked a Cast member in the lobby if there was a lounge, and they pointed us down the hall. There was a small lounge, but it only had coffee and quick-service items...

    ESPN Club Done For Good?

Agreed. There used to also be Mizners in the GF, but for reasons still puzzling to me they removed it.

    ESPN Club Done For Good?

We would actually build an entire evening around the boardwalk on many of our visits: drinks at Bellevue Lounge, dinner at Yachtsman, a couple of hours at Jellyrolls and finish up the night at ACDH. Most of our visits, JR's was packed; ACDH could either be light or busy but never packed.

    RUMOR: goodbye Tables in Wonderland

Very similar for us. Late January, mid-May, early October and early December. Usually done paying for itself during the second trip!

    RUMOR: goodbye Tables in Wonderland

We've used the TiW card for years, going back to when it was the DDE. For us it's worked out great. We would visit 4 - 5 times a year, would always dine at one or two Signature restaurants, order a bottle of wine, plus pre and post dinner cocktails. We often brought visiting friends with us...

    Yehaa Bob

Regarding the GFSO, we could see the writing on the wall awhile ago. When they removed them from the balcony, then put them in that awkward corner by the lobby entrance, I remember thinking "this is how they're going to phase them out". First, take them away from "front and center", make...

News Goodbye to The Grand Floridian Society Orchestra

True - but it also cheapens/diminishes the experience for others. Can't tell you how many times we've been to a place like California Grille for a special night out and a family in t-shirts, flip flops and back-packs (pretty obvious they came right from the parks) sits down next to us. Yes...
