This would've been my guess for an increase in adult vaccinations after the age limit was reduced: parents/guardians getting them at the same time as their kids.

I disagree. I think every vaccine-eligible person who has not yet received (or scheduled) a shot should have to wear a scarlet letter "C" on their chest, and when they go into public, everyone who's been vaccinated should immediately stop what they are doing and point at them. It is the only...

I guess you haven't been paying attention. Plenty of people have suggested numbers when restrictions might be lifted. I mean, they weren't "Right this instant," so I can see why an anti-masker would gloss right over them... I've seen numbers as low as 65% of the eligible population vaccinated...

Anti-maskers have been desperately trying to play this card since this pandemic began... May 2020: "If you don't want to drop mask restrictions right now, you obviously just want them to go on FOREVER!!!" And shortly afterwards, of course, came the huge spike, and hundreds of thousands died...

That isn't a recent development. That's been a CDC "guideline" for a long time now. In some ways, it's ridiculous. At my work, when someone came down with Covid they'd look at the security cameras afterwards to do contact tracing "according to CDC guidelines." Basically, if they didn't see you...

I'm laughing way too hard at this.

I think this is a feasible option to counter some of the "political" opposition to getting the vaccine, and I can see officials adopting this strategy if/when the "new vaccinations" number hits a wall. If new vaccinations basically stop at, say, 68%, and the number needed to lift restrictions...

LMAO! So this "friend"--who literally thinks mRNA vaccines "modify your DNA"--would be open to be getting said vaccine if only they'd announce a "Get a Vaccine, Drop the Mask" campaign for everyone? Wow, small price to pay for DNA alteration! 😂 Amazing that you have such a pertinent...

Anti-maskers are almost always against vaccine verification yet insist on pushing this "get a vaccine and drop the mask" plan to reduce vaccine hesitancy. The former, of course, completely negates the effectiveness of the latter, but I suspect that is by design (can it be coincidence that as...

I absolutely agree! I think with an enforced system of vaccine verification, "Get a vaccine and lose the mask" would be an effective way to reduce hesitancy. Hopefully that is the way businesses go if hesitancy does end up becoming problematic.

The people who are still closely following the masking rules aren't the majority of ones hesitant to get the vaccine. I have no complaint with vaccine incentives. I only objected to a specific bit of nonsense the anti-maskers have been pushing lately. "Get a vaccine and stop wearing a mask" is...

It's hilarious that anti-maskers are still pushing this "you can stop wearing masks if you get the vaccine" thing as the solution to vaccine hesitancy... I'm sure everyone has seen the spring break pics of kids partying in huge groups without masks. And people all over the country, even places...

Ah yes, victim-shaming. A hallowed past-time of a certain type of individual... Yes, if only a large portion of those 550,000 hadn't allowed themselves to get so OLD, they'd still be alive today....

The UK being "ahead" in single doses is a key part of their rollout strategy, not (necessarily) a flaw in ours. The UK purposely chose not to give second doses for 12 weeks (as opposed to the 3 to 4 weeks in the US). So while the US had to earmark a certain amount of doses to be used for a...

And the UK isn't fully vaccinating everyone, either. They are waiting 12 weeks between doses, focusing instead on getting more people their first dose. (They've also been in a major lockdown for awhile, much more severe than just "masks and distancing"...)

Others have already pointed out the risks inherent in having a large unvaccinated population, which is why it's important that people are actually vaccinated and not just claiming to be. The person I was responding to suggested a "Get a vaccine and you can stop wearing masks" campaign as a way...

Ha, your whole "Tell people if they get the vaccine they can go back to normal!" plan to reduce vaccine hesitancy is based around assuming people are honest! So you actually acknowledge people will lie to circumvent rules...but think somehow they wouldn't lie about being vaccinated if they...

You aren't paying attention. Those young people who are tired of the mitigation measures? They're already ignoring them. I'm sure you've seen all the spring break pics of kids partying in huge groups without masks. Do you really think telling them they can do what they're already doing if they...

Do you see tattoos being in the same category as gender, age, and color? A lot of actors (even those on stage) cover up their tattoos when playing their roles. It's part of the job. It sounds like many people here would be less concerned about the change if the tattoo displays were limited to...
