I'd love to hear some of the details when you can share them. After my fourth visit to HKDL in 12 months, I'd loved to see an exciting second gate there.

Update. The scaffolding is gone and the treehouse looks great. Not sure exactly when it came down, but it is indeed gone for the 10th anniversary.k

You might be surprised at how many mainland Chinese visit HKDL. A bigger hit to the attendance though will be the continued devaluation of the rmb. It's already affecting high end stores on Canton road as the mainlanders aren't getting as good of a deal with currency exchange any more. There...

Nice to see something being done to plus an attraction. I'm not sure what it says about how excited we are over the only news being 35 year old used animatronics that have been collecting dust somewhere being installed in an existing space using existing labor. o_O

Bamboo scaffolding is the norm. It's 100% certain that this is not theming, especially with the plastic tie construction of it. Actually, seeing metal scaffolding in China would be... weird. What's scary is seeing the workers up atop those 50 story bamboo constructions.

I'm not even sure DisneySEA beats Diagonal Alley. DisneySEA as an overall park has a great theme and some beautiful areas, while DA is one (actually small area wise) land. But the sheer density of theming and placemaking and absolute stickler for detail and consistency puts Diagonal Alley over...

The bamboo looks okay from a distance, but the scrap plastic it's tied together with and the brown rags shielding spots don't look great up close. Talked to a CM while I was there. He said the bamboo has been up for two years and is part of "routine maintenance". But it would all be coming...

Rode the HKDL autopia on Sunday. The smooth running electric cars with on board audio through lush landscaping I'm sure would be enjoyed by kids in Florida just as well as the gas guzzlers.

Six months after my last visit, bamboo scaffolding still there. No visible changes to the treehouse.
