I could use a bit of pixie dust if anyone has some to spare. I heard there is a rumor that one of DS's bullies may have moved to Belgium and I REALLY want it to be true, because she's a huge ring leader among the bullies. She's the one who warned the new girl not to play with DS and who started bullying said new girl because she didn't listen. If this girl is gone, her cronies aren't smart enough to come up with new ways to torture him themselves and they might not be so daring...maybe DS can have his friend back.

Hopefully she's gone, but, hopefully she also eventually grows up into a decent human being soon, too. I've seen it happen before. There is hope.

Girls can be the worst. I had a girl in middle school who was such a bully. She would stop and intimidate me in the halls, call me a b*tch, ugly, fat, etc. I always reported it and came home and told my parents. It stopped very quickly when my father threatened to press harassment charges against her.

Yep, you've heard the situation with the bullying of our youngest DD way back when. I'm no lawyer, but, I nipped the heck outta' that one as soon as she finally made us aware of it.
There's just no place for that Bravo Sierra in life. Life, in general, can be crazy enough. :bored:

So, here I am, preparing to play nice. Poms is having a start of the season kick off at one of the girl's houses. And moms come by at 9:30. (I really don't want to make nice with the other pom moms.I want to be getting ready to go to bed at 9:30.)

Pom pictures are tomorrow morning. DD came home and the black pair of dance shoes are suddenly mandatory...for tomorrow morning. No time to take her to the local dance shop before she was supposed to be at the party. Here is where I say I love my local dance shop. 10 minute drive for my house. I brought the tan shoes and told the lady I need these exact shoes in black. She grabbed them, I paid for them and came back home.

Now to find out about the black Nikes they want the girls to have for the first football game. Not the official ones. We are supposed to order those, too. (At least my DD realizes that this is silly, because this is going to be something close to $140 in sneakers.) Yep. Poms is very expensive. And @figmentfan423 it only gets better. They already have their bid for nationals. So I will be financing another trip for her to WDW, this time in February. Better start growing money trees in the backyard!

I'm so sorry. :( Some parents clubs are crazy, actually most are crazy. Even our Chorus was nuts with Tux quality dressings required to buy. My kids were competitive swimmers easily $5000 per trimester for the two of them and add in a second club for the summer. My kids swam in water. Seriously between swim gear ($150-300 for special suits for finals) they were not freak'n Olympians. My kids 5 grades apart only 2 made even the trials.

In retrospect from Chorus to competitions to Swimming I blame the coaches. The peer pressure is sucidoodles. Looking back now my youngest in her 20's and oldest pushing 30...these coaches scout out the most malleable for their parent board/boosters. From there the coaches don't have to apply pressure. It the parents doing this to other parents. It snowballs. It worked out for me in the long run. My kids had high school jobs and college jobs during the recession because of their talent in swimming. Chorus not so much. My DS went on to get a college degree that reflected his talent in swimming and he was no Olympian. Awesome but so are thousands of them.

I watched my friends spend thousands of dollars on one on one coaches for band, chorus, swimming and baseball etc some with the mindset that they would get free rides to college or worse become professionals. I knew there were not professional swimmers so the ultimate goal with my kids was grades and college degrees. The degree something nobody could take away from them ever. It worked for my kids. Still to have some of those funds back from all this 'stuff' we were pressured into buying, special instruction etc I wish as many did to have those funds back again and have the finesse for the greater good to say no, enough is enough.

O.k. So, day 5 of staycation. Went walking through the woods again today, but as I turned around a corner and looked down the ground, I nearly screamed!! (Not my photo below, it's from Mr. Google--I saw a garter snake slither across the hiking trail. :jawdrop: (To those of you who are unfamiliar with the Northeast garter snake, they are non-poisonous, but it still scared the carp out of me!!)

Yikes! Last year I had one similar slither onto thise sidewalk just infront of Walt and me. I wasn't pretty. Walt noticed me, not the snake. Says something about human behavior.
