Trip Report Fairytales Do Come True...

Well friends, we've returned from a magical, rainy, pixie dust filled trip that will NEVER be topped in my book. :) I have so much to share with you that I simply couldn't wait any longer! The first post is a little word-heavy, but I promise the rest of the report will have LOTS of pictures!

Here's my PTR if you'd like to read it!

Here we go! :joyfull:

Tuesday, 6/6

We had a 4pm flight out of Pittsburgh so fortunately didn't have to rush around much the morning that we left. We did some last minute packing and cleaning before loading everything up and heading to drop Tink off at my parents' house. She spent the first 4 days there and the last 4 days with Dylan's mom (and her wiener dog boyfriend :angelic:).

It's never easy leaving this sweet little baby. :( She knew something was up! Fortunately she was a good girl all week and had lots of fun with her grandmas! ;)

Disney here we come!!!!! :joyfull:
IMG_0050.JPG

We were on the road a few minutes after 1pm and it didn't take long for me to take over Dylan's Pandora with the Disney station. :p We arrived at 3pm and parking was a nightmare! We were starting to really cut it close and I was stressing. We went to check our bags and were informed that our flight was delayed until 7:30pm due to weather. It was extremely frustrating to be delayed, but it was a blessing in disguise because we were so short on time. So much for having time to do something on arrival day. :(

We went to TGI Friday's for some snacks. Dylan had pretzels and I had French Onion Soup. I was dreaming about BOG soup. :hungry: It was fine, nothing spectacular! But it filled our tummies and held us over until we got to Orlando.
IMG_0052.JPG

After our long delay, we finally boarded our flight and took off right on time at 7:30pm.

fullsizeoutput_3640.jpeg

Let me just preface the next part of my report by saying we literally had the BEST flight crew ever! They were so much fun!

The flight attendants went through the typical safety speech but when they were done, one came back over the intercom and said, "I've been asked what to do if you have more than one child. Which one should you put the mask on first? You put it on the one who has the most earning potential OR the one who's going to change your diapers in the years to come. Because that's coming." :hilarious::hilarious::hilarious:

When we started our descent into Orlando, the same flight attendant came back on and sang our landing directions to the tune of "She'll Be Coming Around the Mountain." Then, another flight attendant came on and sang a farewell song to the tune of "Zip-a-Dee-Doo-Dah." I wish I would have recorded them so I could remember the words. They were HILARIOUS! I love Southwest. :)

We finally landed at 9:30pm and headed to ME. Dylan stopped for some McDonalds in the food court on the way, lol. My mom bought me a Belle MagicBand for Christmas and I had called the day before to get it activated because it wasn't letting me do it myself. Well, it still wasn't working when I scanned it at the ME counter. :cautious: Fortunately, I had thrown my band for this trip in my carry on so scanned it for the time being.

Being that we landed close to 10pm, I wasn't sure about whether or not ME would get our luggage for us. The CM at the counter said we were fine and they would get it. It made me a little nervous, but we took her word for it.
IMG_0054.JPG

We boarded a boring Mears bus at 10:10 and pulled out a few minutes later. The welcome video was broken so we watched Brave instead. :(
IMG_0055.JPG

We arrived home at 10:45pm! :joyfull: This is the best I could do, lol.
IMG_0056.JPG

We went to the front desk to get my MagicBand fixed which only took a few minutes. I also never received my "room ready" text so had to figure out where we were staying. We were in the Hoops Hotel section! I took these pictures later in the week since it was dark when we arrived. :)

I had requested a first floor room, thinking it would be nice to not have to walk up and down steps or ride the elevator. It ended up being pretty noisy with all the people walking by. We're both heavy sleepers and even more so because we were always exhausted at the end of the day, so it wasn't a huge deal. But I just thought it was worth mentioning for those of you who are light sleepers or have little ones!

We stopped in the food court for a snack and our mugs, as we were on the dining plan. We ate our snacks in our room and then hopped into bed!

I woke up at 3:30am and we still didn't have our luggage. There was a message on the phone that was left at 1am saying our luggage was there.. to call when we needed it and they would bring it to the room. I went back to sleep and called when we got up at 6:30am. I was on hold for 15 minutes and when they answered, was told luggage services didn't open until 7am. :cautious: Then why did you leave me a message saying to call when I wanted it delivered? Our luggage arrived a few minutes after 7am so it ended up being fine.

Next up, Magic Kingdom!!!! :joyfull:

We had a FP+ for Space Mountain, but when we walked over, it was down. Slightly disappointing, but it turned into a wildcard FP+ so all was well. :)
UNADJUSTEDNONRAW_thumb_5293.jpg

Instead, we walked right into the preshow for Monsters, Inc. Laugh Floor. :) We had a great show.. the highlight was when they put a young boy up on the screen as Randall and he was picking his nose. :hilarious:
UNADJUSTEDNONRAW_thumb_5294.jpg

We filled the can and opened the doors so we could walk to our Pooh FP+. Next, we waited 35 minutes for Enchanted Tales with Belle even though it was only posted at 20 minutes. :cautious:
UNADJUSTEDNONRAW_thumb_5295.jpg

UNADJUSTEDNONRAW_thumb_5296.jpg

I do love this show, so the extra wait was worth it. :)
UNADJUSTEDNONRAW_thumb_5297.jpg

When we exited the show, it was pouring. :grumpy: We walked to Storybook Circus and hopped in line for Donald and Goofy. We waited about 35 minutes. There was a mom and her two teenage kids in front of us with a huge tote filled with treat bags of candy. From what I gathered, they were walking around the park handing them out to CM's and characters. It was... odd. :cautious: I guess it's a nice idea, but the mom's obsessive picture taking and videoing of the kids handing them out made me feel like it was more about the attention they got than the feelings of doing something nice for others.

Anyway, Goofy was pretty excited about our engagement and my ring. :) I love looking at Dylan's reaction in our character pictures, lol. He handles me so well.:inlove:
UNADJUSTEDNONRAW_thumb_533e.jpg

He kept pointing at Dylan and giving me a thumbs up.. I told him that I think I did pretty good, too. ;)

Donald was next! Sorry for the picture overload, but I loved this interaction with him! :)
UNADJUSTEDNONRAW_thumb_534b.jpg

He was pointing to Mickey's signature and expressing his disapproval. :p I told him that I know he's #1. ;)
UNADJUSTEDNONRAW_thumb_5347.jpg

He noticed my button and got very exited. :)

One last hug before we left!

We hopped on the train in Fantastyland and rode to the front of the park to catch the monorail for dinner. :hungry:

We checked in at Kona Cafe about 10 minutes early and were called back pretty immediately. This was another new restaurant that I was excited to try! :)
UNADJUSTEDNONRAW_thumb_5298.jpg

Our server was Nate and he was fantastic! He gave us suggestions for every part of our meal and had a great sense of humor. Dylan still talks about how great he was lol. He remembers Kona as "that restaurant with the cool waiter."
UNADJUSTEDNONRAW_thumb_529a.jpg

We started off with some drinks.. Dylan had a Lapu Lapu (which I discovered I don't like last year :depressed:). He liked it, though!
UNADJUSTEDNONRAW_thumb_529b.jpg

I'm sure it comes as no surprise what I ordered. :p
UNADJUSTEDNONRAW_thumb_529c.jpg

Nate brought us some yummy bread to start.
UNADJUSTEDNONRAW_thumb_529d.jpg

We perused the menu for a few minutes and both decided to go with Nate's suggestion: Miso-Buttered Strip Loin. :hungry:
UNADJUSTEDNONRAW_thumb_5299.jpg

It was DELICIOUS!
UNADJUSTEDNONRAW_thumb_529e.jpg

We followed up an awesome dinner with some yummy desserts!
UNADJUSTEDNONRAW_thumb_529f.jpg

We had a Kilauea Torte, which satisfied this chocolate lover 100%. :hungry:
UNADJUSTEDNONRAW_thumb_52a0.jpg

We also tried the Kona Mocha Verrine.. it was very rich, but very good!

As if we hadn't eaten enough, the manager and Nate soon brought this sweet gift to our table. :) They said it was something new they were trying! The pins are ADORABLE! :inlove:
UNADJUSTEDNONRAW_thumb_52a2.jpg

UNADJUSTEDNONRAW_thumb_52a3.jpg

We took them to go because there was no way we were eating them after such a big meal! We hopped on the monorail and headed back to MK.

We had a FP+ to meet Tink and were given this prestigious honor. :p
UNADJUSTEDNONRAW_thumb_52a4.jpg

She loved the pixie dust in my ring, but she told us not to grow up by getting married. ;)
UNADJUSTEDNONRAW_thumb_5353.jpg

She also loved seeing herself and the pixie dust on my shirt. :)
UNADJUSTEDNONRAW_thumb_5355.jpg

She was excited to hear that we had named our Tink after her and said that we should fly her in so they could meet. :p
UNADJUSTEDNONRAW_thumb_5352.jpg

UNADJUSTEDNONRAW_thumb_5350.jpg

UNADJUSTEDNONRAW_thumb_5351.jpg

We went to find a spot to watch Happily Ever After, but Main Street was pretty crowded already. We stood in the middle of the street near Casey's and had a pretty good view. I didn't take any pictures or videos so I could enjoy the show and take everything in. :) I love HEA even more each time I see it.

We walked through Adventureland to avoid the after-fireworks crowds. We had a FP+ to meet some princesses!

We arrived at Fairytale Hall for our royal meeting!
UNADJUSTEDNONRAW_thumb_535b.jpg

She called Dylan my ruffian and asked if I had brought him along to carry my satchel. She also said she hoped that nothing got stolen from it. :p
UNADJUSTEDNONRAW_thumb_535e.jpg

She loved my purple shirt and told me to keep an eye on Dylan. I told her that I have frying pans at home if he gets out of line.
UNADJUSTEDNONRAW_thumb_535a.jpg

Tiana asked where we were from and when I said PA, she said that she'd heard PA has the best cheesesteaks. I told her that was true and she said she'd have to come and try them out because she's always looking for new meals to put on her menu. :) She asked what my favorite meal is and I told her anything with pasta. She said that I need to try her Cajun shrimp pasta. :p
UNADJUSTEDNONRAW_thumb_5361.jpg

She congratulated me on our engagement and asked if he had turned me into a frog. I said no and thankfully I didn't have to kiss a frog to get to my prince. :p She agreed and said that kissing frogs is messy.
UNADJUSTEDNONRAW_thumb_5362.jpg

I have in my notes that we used our wildcard FP+ from earlier on Big Thunder, but I have pictures of us on Space Mountain so we must have done that too. :)
UNADJUSTEDNONRAW_thumb_52a6.jpg

UNADJUSTEDNONRAW_thumb_5367.jpg

We had one last FP+ before heading out, and it was a pretty important one. ;)
UNADJUSTEDNONRAW_thumb_536c.jpg

Talking Mickey is cool, but at the same time kind of weird. The CM told him that we had just gotten engaged and he was like, "that's great!" and then immediately started talking about Haunted Mansion and hitchhiking ghosts. o_O It was a strange interaction to say the least.

We stopped to take our last MK pictures of the trip. :( The photographer was the same one that had taken pictures of us with Tink earlier, and he remembered us! :)

UNADJUSTEDNONRAW_thumb_5329.jpg

UNADJUSTEDNONRAW_thumb_532a.jpg

This one is so awkward, lol. He kept telling us to say "Mickey" before he'd take our picture, and he wouldn't take it unless we said it loud enough. So there we are, standing in the middle of Main Street screaming "MICKEY!" :hilarious: Mickey isn't a word that you can easily say and then smile normally.
UNADJUSTEDNONRAW_thumb_5328.jpg

We walked through the shops for a few minutes to delay the inevitable, but we couldn't stay forever. :( One last picture from the most perfect trip ever!
UNADJUSTEDNONRAW_thumb_52a7.jpg

Goodnight Magic Kingdom! Until next time. :inlove:

We called to request a later checkout time and were told we could stay in our room until 1pm, however we had to have our luggage stored earlier than that (maybe by noon? I can't remember). We dropped it off at 11:30am and then grabbed some lunch from the food court.
UNADJUSTEDNONRAW_thumb_52a9.jpg

UNADJUSTEDNONRAW_thumb_52aa.jpg

We returned to our room after lunch and relaxed until 1pm. We then caught a bus for Blizzard Beach and walked to Winter Summerland from there. :)
UNADJUSTEDNONRAW_thumb_52ab.jpg

UNADJUSTEDNONRAW_thumb_52ac.jpg

We chose the winter course and were able to walk right through!

As you all know by now, Dylan is a huge golfer. He's taking it so seriously and then there's me... whacking the ball and hoping for the best. :hilarious: I was more interested in taking pictures.

We hopped on a bus back to Sports to kill the rest of the time left before we had to head to the airport. We ate again, which should come as no surprise.
UNADJUSTEDNONRAW_thumb_52c1.jpg

UNADJUSTEDNONRAW_thumb_52c3.jpg

We played some games in the arcade, which was pretty lame in my opinion. Dylan was like a kid in a candy shop, but I only liked maybe two of the games so I was bored. :p
UNADJUSTEDNONRAW_thumb_52c2.jpg

We boarded the Tragical Express at 5:55pm and had to make stops at the other All Star resorts, so it took about an hour to finally arrive at the airport. Our driver's name was Michael and he was very kind and pleasant, so we tipped him well as a thank you. :)

We hung out at our gate until it was time to board and fortunately didn't have any delays. We had an easy flight and made it home around 2am. We stopped to pick up our baby from Dylan's mom and then went home and fell into bed.

Tink got her souvenirs the next day and was thrilled. :p Her name and our phone number are engraved on the back.

What can I say to sum up the most magical trip I've ever had? Disney has always been special to me, but getting engaged to my real life Prince Charming makes it that much more special. It will never be topped and I am so blessed. :inlove: I'm so happy that Dylan loved my happy place and that alone made all of the compulsive planning worthwhile. Leaving was much easier this time around knowing that we would return permanently just a month later. :joyfull: Thank you all for following along and sharing in the excitement of our engagement, my job, and our move!

See ya real soon!

Now that my TR is finished, I plan on sharing about our adventures as passholders! :joyfull: What do you all prefer for the format of an ongoing TR? One big one with a table of contents? Monthly reports with a table of contents? Other? Lol

Please share your thoughts so I can get started ASAP! :D

MK photographer did a nice job despite the awkward "Mickey" demands.

I have to do the mini-golf one of these trips!

Beautiful report and happy that Dylan is sold! Just promise him a round (or two) of golf each trip and I don't think you'll have a problem.

Wishing you all the best as you start your new life together!
