Trip Report Fairytales Do Come True...

Well friends, we've returned from a magical, rainy, pixie dust filled trip that will NEVER be topped in my book. :) I have so much to share with you that I simply couldn't wait any longer! The first post is a little word-heavy, but I promise the rest of the report will have LOTS of pictures!

Here's my PTR if you'd like to read it!

Here we go! :joyfull:

Tuesday, 6/6

We had a 4pm flight out of Pittsburgh so fortunately didn't have to rush around much the morning that we left. We did some last minute packing and cleaning before loading everything up and heading to drop Tink off at my parents' house. She spent the first 4 days there and the last 4 days with Dylan's mom (and her wiener dog boyfriend :angelic:).

It's never easy leaving this sweet little baby. :( She knew something was up! Fortunately she was a good girl all week and had lots of fun with her grandmas! ;)

Disney here we come!!!!! :joyfull:
IMG_0050.JPG

We were on the road a few minutes after 1pm and it didn't take long for me to take over Dylan's Pandora with the Disney station. :p We arrived at 3pm and parking was a nightmare! We were starting to really cut it close and I was stressing. We went to check our bags and were informed that our flight was delayed until 7:30pm due to weather. It was extremely frustrating to be delayed, but it was a blessing in disguise because we were so short on time. So much for having time to do something on arrival day. :(

We went to TGI Friday's for some snacks. Dylan had pretzels and I had French Onion Soup. I was dreaming about BOG soup. :hungry: It was fine, nothing spectacular! But it filled our tummies and held us over until we got to Orlando.
IMG_0052.JPG

After our long delay, we finally boarded our flight and took off right on time at 7:30pm.

fullsizeoutput_3640.jpeg

Let me just preface the next part of my report by saying we literally had the BEST flight crew ever! They were so much fun!

The flight attendants went through the typical safety speech but when they were done, one came back over the intercom and said, "I've been asked what to do if you have more than one child. Which one should you put the mask on first? You put it on the one who has the most earning potential OR the one who's going to change your diapers in the years to come. Because that's coming." :hilarious::hilarious::hilarious:

When we started our descent into Orlando, the same flight attendant came back on and sang our landing directions to the tune of "She'll Be Coming Around the Mountain." Then, another flight attendant came on and sang a farewell song to the tune of "Zip-a-Dee-Doo-Dah." I wish I would have recorded them so I could remember the words. They were HILARIOUS! I love Southwest. :)

We finally landed at 9:30pm and headed to ME. Dylan stopped for some McDonalds in the food court on the way, lol. My mom bought me a Belle MagicBand for Christmas and I had called the day before to get it activated because it wasn't letting me do it myself. Well, it still wasn't working when I scanned it at the ME counter. :cautious: Fortunately, I had thrown my band for this trip in my carry on so scanned it for the time being.

Being that we landed close to 10pm, I wasn't sure about whether or not ME would get our luggage for us. The CM at the counter said we were fine and they would get it. It made me a little nervous, but we took her word for it.
IMG_0054.JPG

We boarded a boring Mears bus at 10:10 and pulled out a few minutes later. The welcome video was broken so we watched Brave instead. :(
IMG_0055.JPG

We arrived home at 10:45pm! :joyfull: This is the best I could do, lol.
IMG_0056.JPG

We went to the front desk to get my MagicBand fixed which only took a few minutes. I also never received my "room ready" text so had to figure out where we were staying. We were in the Hoops Hotel section! I took these pictures later in the week since it was dark when we arrived. :)

I had requested a first floor room, thinking it would be nice to not have to walk up and down steps or ride the elevator. It ended up being pretty noisy with all the people walking by. We're both heavy sleepers and even more so because we were always exhausted at the end of the day, so it wasn't a huge deal. But I just thought it was worth mentioning for those of you who are light sleepers or have little ones!

We stopped in the food court for a snack and our mugs, as we were on the dining plan. We ate our snacks in our room and then hopped into bed!

I woke up at 3:30am and we still didn't have our luggage. There was a message on the phone that was left at 1am saying our luggage was there.. to call when we needed it and they would bring it to the room. I went back to sleep and called when we got up at 6:30am. I was on hold for 15 minutes and when they answered, was told luggage services didn't open until 7am. :cautious: Then why did you leave me a message saying to call when I wanted it delivered? Our luggage arrived a few minutes after 7am so it ended up being fine.

Next up, Magic Kingdom!!!! :joyfull:

Epcot day! There were morning EMH, but we decided to enjoy the extra hour of sleep vs. the extra hour of people. :p We left the room a little before 8am and arrived at Epcot around 8:15am. Security took a long time for whatever reason. :cautious:

Good morning!
IMG_0160.JPG

Spaceship Earth was a walk on so we took advantage! I changed our FP+ for later to Nemo instead and we enjoyed our ride through history! This ride is so much more fun with ridiculous ride pictures. Dylan enjoyed this one and our Epcot day was off to a great start!

I thought this was appropriate for the events of our trip so far. :inlove:
IMG_0162.JPG

Our next destination was Soarin'! I was so excited to see the new version!! :joyfull: The wait time was posted at 35 minutes but we only waited 15. AND we were led into Concourse C! :D

While in line we listened to a guy complaining to somebody else about Na'vi River Journey.. He said that he hoped somebody lost their job over it because the ride was so boring. Ummm... okay then. o_O I think that's a little harsh to wish on somebody but to each their own.

The verdict? I absolutely LOVED the new version! I love all of the new places that you visit and the smells are amazing! I see what everybody means about the distortion of the Eiffel Tower, but other than that it was fantastic! :) I can't wait to ride again! Though Dylan didn't have anything to compare it to, he thought the ride was great as well!
IMG_0163.JPG

Next up was Living with the Land.. a walk on! I don't know what it is about this ride because I'm not interested in plants or gardening whatsoever.. but I love it! :)

We walked toward The Seas for our Nemo FP+ and spotted these little cuties on the way. :inlove: The duckling was so full of energy and was running all over the grass. If I was a duck I would also live at Disney.

We were able to find Nemo and then decided to go pay Crush a visit. The wait time was posted as 10 minutes but we actually waited longer. The CM in our show was earning her ears and there was another CM standing in the doorway with a clipboard taking notes, which was obviously making her very nervous. The show was choppy but she did a good job overall. I felt bad that she was so nervous! Dylan was fascinated with the show and I never get tired of talking turtle. :p

I agree so much about people pushing their way in and thinking they have the right to touch you. We've experienced people pushing our little ones out of the way and then standing in front of them . You were very polite not to say anything I usually do!

I just can't fathom treating people that way! I try to stick to shooting nasty looks in their direction, but sometimes I don't have quite enough self control to keep my mouth shut. :p They were lucky I was in such a good mood!

Congratulations!! May you have a lifetime of happiness and countless Disney trips.
Welcome aboard and thank you! :) Can't wait to get our annual passes so the countless Disney trips can begin. :p

What a magical start to your trip. Congratulations on your engagement! Your pictures are wonderful, you and Dylan look ridiculously happy, which is perfect for Disney World.

Thank you! :)

When in Epcot, what better place to eat lunch than in the World Showcase? :)
IMG_0173.JPG

It wasn't quite 11am yet, so the CM's still had it roped off. We stood there for a few minutes waiting.. they did a countdown to open the World Showcase (which I had never seen before), but my patience was wearing thin because I was HANGRY. :p

Can't beat the view, though. :inlove:
IMG_0175.JPG

I checked my email to pass the time and boy am I glad I did! Sitting in my inbox was an official job offer to teach 1st grade at Central Avenue Elementary in Osceola County! :joyfull: That puts me 20 minutes away from Disney! :D:D:D How's that for a twofer @DisneyBound2017?? :p So much good news in one week and even more reason to celebrate in Disney!

Dylan chose Lotus Blossom Cafe so once the World Showcase officially opened, we walked the rest of the way to China. We both had orange chicken and rice. :hungry:
IMG_0176.JPG

IMG_0177.JPG

The view from our cute little table. :)
IMG_0178.JPG

After we finished eating we explored the China pavilion and then backtracked through the countries we had skipped. I don't think I saw a single PhotoPass photographer in the entire WS all day. I supposed the rain had a lot to do with that but it didn't rain all day. So where were they? I have very few pictures from our journey around the world because of it.. I could have had somebody take pictures on my phone for us I suppose, but if I'm paying for MemoryMaker I expect there to be photographers around for me to utilize.

And, more good things, your job offer in Florida, no less. Were you planning all along to move to Florida?
What a wonderful start to your life, and am happily following along:)

I talked Dylan into doing our first character meet and greet of the trip with royalty in Arendelle. :) The wait time was posted as 35 minutes but we only waited about 20. I love the queue! So many fun details. :)

Anna was pretty excited about our engagement. ;)
EPCOT_FROZENCHARB2_20170608_402678291333.jpg

She made sure that I had known Dylan for longer than 3 minutes.. I told her that I had learned my lesson from her. :p
EPCOT_FROZENCHARB2_20170608_402678291334.jpg

She asked if there would be chocolate cake at the wedding and if she could come. I told her there would DEFINITELY be chocolate cake and we'll be sure to add her to the guest list. :)
EPCOT_FROZENCHARB2_20170608_402678291335.jpg

She asked if Dylan was an ice harvester and he said no. She asked what he does and I said he's a teacher and a golfer. She wanted to know if he would be able to help Olaf out with his golf game because when he hits his little snowballs, his stick arms fly off! :hilarious:

She was a great Anna! :)

She led us over to where Elsa was waiting and filled her in on our engagement. Elsa confirmed that we had known each other for longer than a day and said that we could have a royal celebration in the ice palace complete with chocolate ice cream cake. :) Her voice was strange... not a good fit for Elsa. But we had a good meet and greet with her regardless!

I love that Anna and Elsa are able to interact in their new location. Anna always "hand delivered" the people to Elsa and they would talk to one another before Anna moved on to the next group. I think it's a nice touch!

Glad to have you aboard! :) Thank you! Yes, we were planning to move to Florida.. I was just waiting for a final offer to determine what part we'd be going to. We leave in about 3 weeks!

The Elsa has really strong makeup too. It's a weird fit visually imo. Super adorable the way your interaction with the sisters went though!!

Congratulations on accepting the job offer! Do you like first grade? Kindergarten is my favorite, but first grade runs a close second! Have you and Dylan found a place to live yet? Does Dylan know which building he will be working in? Can't wait to hear all about it!
LOVE your interaction with Anna. She seems like so much fun! It's really cool that she hand delivers you to Elsa. I agree that Elsa looked a bit odd. Your photos with Anna are great!
