Pre-Trip Our first ever deluxe vacation...could it be?!

We have an opportunity to travel with a friend with whom we had lost touch for a few years, who just so happens to be a DVC member. We are still in the discussion stage, but we are very excited about the possibility of a deluxe vacation at...wait for it...The Polynesian!! She can't book the room until April, but fingers crossed that this all works out. We weren't going to take a long trip this year since we are cruising next February, but how can we pass up a room at the Poly?! Simple answer...we can't!!

OH, I see what you mean. No worries there. We have been in touch with her very recently and are 100% comfortable with that part. She and my husband went to college together and worked together for years. We know her well! She will be a blast to travel with!!

We are only a few weeks away from actually booking this trip!! Our friend can't book with her DVC points until the first of April. We did go ahead and buy our park tickets through Undercover Tourist before the prices went up. Saved us a few $$. We have our dining reservation list ready to go, too! Fortunately our friend is as much (if not more) of a planner than we are. That makes this even more simple and straightforward. I can hardly wait!!

So a stay in the bungalows or the studios? We stayed in a studio..very spacious and two bathrooms. If one of the bungalows, that is a friend I'd like to have. Enjoy your trip.

No bungalow. She doesn't love us that much! LOL But we will take the studio! Just two more weeks until we can book it officially!

It's booking day!! It doesn't look like the Poly is available for our entire length of stay, so we may have to switch resorts mid-stream. Our friend is going to put in a request on the wait list for the unavailable days, so hopefully by November something will come up so we don't have to move. Regardless...we will be "in the bubble" and as DH says, he will stay in a meadow or a hollow tree!

WELL......It is booked and we got what we wanted!! We just had to alter our dates "a little"! We are now going August 26- Sept 1 instead! That was a quick way to drop some days from the countdown!! We will be staying at a value resort Friday and Saturday and then possibly the Contemporary on Sunday and at THE POLYNESIAN Monday through Friday! We may cancel the Contemporary on Sunday and just pay for another Value night instead of moving resorts three times, but we will decide that later. So far, we've managed to snag all of the dining reservations we want, too, and we will finish those tonight. Only 141 days to go!! I can't believe it!

Dining reservations are made. They will probably change a time or two before August, but for now, we will be at a Value resort on Friday, the Contemporary on Saturday and Sunday and The Polynesian Monday through Friday. Meals will be at Tutto Italia, Tusker House breakfast, Ohana Breakfast, 1900 Park Fare Dinner, Garden Grill breakfast, and Be Our Guest dinner. Bring it!

Thanks! We thought of you when we booked this! I know how much you love the Poly. Its going to be hotter than blue blazes that time of the year, but we will manage.
