OK, so DWifey is channel surfin' and comes across a show on Animal Planet called "Treehouse Masters". WTH does that hafta' do with animals, other than displacing them, and creating (as per the prior nest conversation) human nests...?!
Then, during the commercial break, they advertise a new show called "Flipping Ships" about refurbing old sail boats and houseboats. And, the tag line at the end is... "Animal Planet. Surprisingly Human."
Yea, kinda' like the History Channel is surprisingly unhistorical, these days.
What the flippin' flip...?!?!?!

Animal Planet is good for two shows: Too Cute: Kittens and My Cat from H3ll.

In my old apartment a bird had built a nest in the boards above our doorframe and had babies. The sound of the door opening and closing must have disturbed them.
One morning I stepped outside in my bare feet to check the mail and stepped down on a featherless baby that didn't make it. POP! I threw up for an hour! My dad had to come over and clean up all remains and move the nest.
poor thing.. the baby was dead before you cracked it, right? D:

With milk, of course.

But NOOOOOOOOO ketchup.

(Sadly, I forgot to pick up an onion. :( )
I find it interesting that you guys from the norther north america, put very little to your hotdogs.

I was surprised how "empty" the hotdogs were in WDW (except for the chili version)

Here in my country, they even set "buffet" like of additional toppings.. from smashed fried potatos ( aka potato chips from a bag crushed), and all kind of toppings (onions, jalapeños, fried stuff, melted cheeses.etc..)

Most americans I know, say they only put (at most) yellow cheese and mustard.
Me in the other hand, put cream, Mayo, Mustard, Cheese, Jalapeños, Onion, little bit of chopped tomatoes and sometimes bacon.

agree, History Channel is always about guys in pawn shops, aliens and Hitler.
nothing else. :|

The age of "reality shows" is really dumbing down the content even further.

Yep, those big ol' sea scallops are definitely my preference, as well, and there are many places to get them around here. They just weren't on that Red Lobster menu.
I've had really good ones at Teppan Edo, twice... :hungry:

Something else you, @Goofyernmost and I have in common, big honk'n scallops. FYI Rose & Crown has amazing ones on their appetizer offerings.

Animal Planet hasn't been "Animal" Planet in a long time.

Cheese on a hot dog---no thank you! Ketchup, spicy mustard, extra onion or extra chili and extra onion.

I had a hot dog for dinner. Mustard and ketchup were all that was on it. Sometimes I'll do chili dogs, but usually, ketchup and mustard are fine.

Some people like more on their hot dogs, but to me, less is better.

Call your doctor if you haven't already. For one, it's been a week. That's way too long. And you say this isn't typical for you. Sometimes, hives are not allergies at all, but actually illness, and your doctor can determine that. Plus, if it is allergies, doctors are usually pretty aware of what's going on in the environment and can tell you what's going on. Hives can also be a precursor to anaphyaxis, which is life-threatening. If your mouth starts itching, your throat or tounge swells, or you feel like you can't breath, get to a hospital. Regardless, call your doctor. You've been managing it, but you don't want that to continue, especially since it's been a week and it's unusual for you. If necessary, you can also go see a specialist and get allergy testing done to figure out exactly what you're allergic to.

In the meantime, you can try to figure out the cause. Are you taking any new medication? Eating something different? Using any new cleaning products? Doing something different in any way? Just in case it's not seasonal allergies (to me, it doesn't sound like seasonal allergies; it sounds like something that's actually touching you or that you're ingesting) but something in your environment. And if you're not on a daily med, like Claratin or Zyrtec, that can help too as long as it is allergies. And if it doesn't help...that's a good sign that there's something more serious going on.
Good advice. I almost never go to the doctor's though. Haven't seen my own GP in almost 3 years.
I've suffered from allergy hives on and off since I was 5. I also get "stress" hives, if that makes any sense.
Anyway, no new soap, detergent, medication.

I've had allergy testing. My main offenders are grass, trees, green mold, and ragweed pollen.
I did read in the local paper that trees and grass are budding simultaneously this year, so it's a double whammy.

I normally take Aerius daily from March through November, with a single dose of Reactine once or twice/week. This year, I've not needed anything, but tonight I'll definitely take a Benadryl 'cause the itchiness is really irksome today.

Hubby and I just got back from our inaugural evening walk of the season (4 miles/6+ km), so I'll likely be a sneezing, wheezing mess tomorrow. Plus, I'll be so stiff I'll scarcely be able to move. :p Just so long as my iPad typing finger remains unaffected, all will be well.

Yes, go take the Benadryl. Start your medications (all of them) and if it doesn't go away by Monday, call your doctor. Because with hives, your throat or tongue could also swell, which would mean you can't breath, which isn't good (and also why you need to take medication RIGHT AWAY!) And next time, do it as SOON AS SYMPTOMS APPEAR!:p There are also Websites that report pollen counts, so as soon as you see those go up, start your meds. You'll save a lot of misery. The thing with the meds is that they tend to build up in your system, so if you're not taking them, you're not prepared to deal with allergies when they come along.

With the allergy testing, depending on how long ago you had it done, you might want to redo it. It really doesn't matter how old you are; allergies can change. If you feel like your medication isn't working, call your doctor, In some people, allergy medications become less and less effective over time.

I don't know if your Reactine is prescription up there or not, but down here, it's called Zyrtec (same drug, different name), it's over-the-counter, and you can take it everyday. Double check, but you can probably take it every day when you get bad. So you would take your Aerius (which is Clarinex down here, similar to Claratin, but prescription-only) in the morning and the Reactine at night. I know for Zyrtec that a single pill once a week will do you good for about 24 hours. And then it's as if you've never taken it. So taking it in the evenings may be something to consider.

If you're taking evening walks, or even if you've just been outside during the day (and this is not something I'm making up; my allergist has told me to do this for many years) come home and take a shower and wash your hair. Pollen and such gets in your hair, and then you go to bed and it ends up on your pillow, and hence you wake up a sniffling allergic mess.

My allergies have been bad this year. I ended up having to call my doctor since when I have allergies, my asthma starts, and that's not good. My doctor has me on prescription eyedrops, prescription nasal spray, Allegra in the morning, and Zyrtec at night, plus we've had to up my controllers for my asthma to twice a day. And probably will have to redo the testing in the summer. He was talking about doing the shots again for several more years. Not sure I want to agree to that; I was already on them for five years. Last week I felt so bad that I took Benadryl. Felt like I was going to fall asleep in class. Ended up coming home and going to sleep.

Oh don't ya just love allergy season? Warm weather is nice but allergies certainly aren't!

When I finally put the last of the Christmas stuff away, I just assumed that the Japanese cherry blossom light would go back down to the living room.
Hubby said Nuh-uh, he likes it better in the bedroom. He says it lights up the whole room when he is coming up the stairs.
For a guy who has zero interest in decorating, and who never even asked me what I was doing when he came home from work one day to find the kitchen half-demo'ed, he's pretty opinionated about this light. :hilarious:

Quite the conundrum with that one, actually...
By the time I see that traffic is gettin' heavy, my runway window is probably long gone. ;)
What I need is somethin' like this that'll go vertical, quick... :D

8B31C970-C577-4465-BC2AB25D1EAA21E0.jpg

Actually, not quite so dramatic as that, but apparently they're getting closer to a car with (something like the same lift technology) as a Harrier jump jet. I think the (shorter) wings fold into the car and then pop out when needed. The concept (like a Harrier) is to lift up from the street, thereby eliminating the need for roll-out to obtain lift. It will be interesting to see what kind of license would be required for one of these (a modified private pilot's license perhaps), but I'm getting ahead of myself here. I do believe in our lifetime, we will see something along these lines become a reality. (My major concern would be the idiots who think they could still manage to text while driving/lifting into the air?!  )
