Wow, that looks great. A proper park addition to a crazy-successful fairytale movie. Bravo Disneyland!

This is the shot as the boat exits Monstro, as seen over the Three Little Pigs island looking across two separate canals. I can't wait to see what this new Frozen scene looks like up close as your boat travels past it. I wonder what the detailing looks like on the buildings?

Doesn't Disneyland know the only way to use frozen is to put it in places in doesn't fit? SHeesh.
On a serious note do the canal boats run at night? Cause if so this land probably has the ice castle looking something beautiful.

Yes, the Storybook Land Canal Boats run at night, during all park operating hours. Their famous fireworks cruises are one of the most magical ways to view Disneyland's fireworks. And I very rarely use the word "magical".

Here's a video from today's soft opening with the new Arendelle show scene, with the hostess at the back of the boat including the new scene in her spiel. Many of the scenes in Storybook Land include the theme song or key sound effects from the movie, and of course the new Arendelle scene is playing "Let it Go!".

If you can time it right and be on the water for the fireworks it's lovely! They stop the boats so you can just sit and watch them then continue the tour after. Casey Jr is pretty cool during the fireworks too. They don't stop the train but it's neat especially if you are in an open car.

I simply HAVE to go meet that Marshmallow character! That's fantastic! So clever!

Miceage has another update, explaining why most of the Frozen Fun stuff didn't open on Saturday and what the evolving timeline now looks like. This won't really be all done until closer to the official January 7th kickoff.

From Micechat this morning... http://micechat.com/

ANOTHER FROZEN FUN DELAY UPDATE for DISNEYLAND - Freeze The Night and the Animation meet n' greet have opened to guests. A makeshift Olaf meet n' greet has also been set up near Stage 17. The singalong show in the Muppets theater is still slated to open on Tuesday the 23rd, but with only 8 shows per day. They will ramp up as quickly as possible through the week to the planned 12 shows per day. Olaf's Snowfest has been delayed again, and is now planned to open on the 27th, but without most of the food and merchandise offerings planned. Those will be added after New Years, with a goal to be ready by the January 7th official kickoff. A Frozen Fun marketing campaign throughout the western US begins on the 7th.

Wow...this looks very nice.
This is indeed a beautifully designed edition...and that is coming from someone who is not a 'Frozen' fan.

Way to go, Disneyland. A classy edition.

The addition itself looks quite neat. I do think the placement is a bit underwhelming. The mountains are not tall enough, the castle and snow-capped mountaintops are dwarfed by hedges behind it. The mountains should be high enough to hide them, or be placed such that they appear to fade off in the distance.

The hedges behind it line the tracks of Casey Jr. Circus Train. That's how many of the scenes were designed to be framed by Walt and his team in the 1950's; by hedges and greenery behind. (With an occasional speeding Circus Train zooming by!) Directly opposite the canal from the Arendelle scene are more mountains framed by shrubs; the Italian Alps of Gepetto's Village that's been there since 1956.

Within the context of the Storybook Land Canal Boats visuals and atmosphere, this new Arendelle scene fits in perfectly. Walt would love it!

Micechat has new updates on the continuing delays of Frozen Fun in DCA. This thing won't really be ready until it's official kickoff date on January 7th, as most of the stuff appears to be a series of rolling soft openings through New Years.

That said, the new Freeze The Night dance party did start last night, and it looks fun. I love the girls doing the ice sculpting on stage!
