Not sure what size cake your looking to get or how customized but if you google Disney world chip and dale cake there are some really cute screen prints and Disney will put images on the cakes for you if their art department approves it(that takes 15-30 days) also I saw one on page 1 or 2 of this thread posted by HouCuseChickie!

Thank you! good idea!

Hey guys :) I'm currently at WDW!!!!!! Yes, posting live from inside the magic bubble! I'm ridiculously full and tired right now. I'm sitting here in my room in the Poly with my swollen feet propped up. I know - I know...it's a rough life... being tired at WDW and all. I will scour the webs for more cake pics when I get home, but for now...I wanted to share pictures of MY CAKE! Oh my gosh, Chef Brian really did it this time :) I'm so happy with the final result.

I normally take more and better pics, but I forgot to load my memory card into my DSLR before dinner. So, I was left with my phone. I guess at least I had a full battery on my phone!

The cake is a chocolate cake with Bailey's Mousse filling. It was really good and boy did it get a TON of attention when it was brought to the table. We even had mgmt. level CMs want to come and meet the couple who ordered this crazy cake. I think it may have something to do with the saying I had them add to it. It is kind of "different." As you may recall, I wanted to combine our fave characters...Donald and Stitch, but couldn't do so since they don't appear together in cartoons. Well, the cute and fluffy line is for DH and Stitch and the quacking line is for me and Donald. So, it works.

I don't normally post my cake pics until I post it in my TR, but I'm changing it up this time! And like I said, I'll post more about other stuff when we get back :) Back to my vacay!
Disregard my other post, I found it! Thanks for sharing.

A quick update, cake loving friends :)

First up... a Star Wars themed cake from the Contemporary Bakery. It's a 6" chocolate cake and was $96.

Next is a 6" cake from the GF bakery. It was $135...and I think some of that price was b/c the person requested a silver platter. It certainly completes the look! The cake was delivered to V&A, so the platter fits the setting much more than a standard cake drum. I just don't know if I'd want a cake at V&A. I guess that's just me, but of all of the meals...it just seems like everything is an experience expertly designed by the master chef. i.e. cake seems rather pedestrian after having such an exquisite meal. That being said, if you want cake at V&A, please don't let my opinion sway you. Obviously, everyone has different preferences and feelings...and I still love seeing the cakes :)

And finally, a pink and gold wedding cake.

This reminds me...I am still blown away by my white chocolate castle. I really want to find some kind of pretty covered dish for it, but I have yet to find something the right size and style.

Disney also posted this cake...not sure what I think of it...

Oh, and very excited...Disney is doing their wedding showcase in February...so, in just a couple of months...we should be seeing some SPECTACULAR cakes and goodies! Excited!!!

Oh, and I'm still uploading trip pics (this is what I get for taking thousands of pics), but once I get all of them up...I will try and post that cake pic from the tea as well as a few cakes and desserts from the case at BW Bakery. I think I could live there!

Hello my cake loving friends! Hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving. I have a small cake update for all of you this week...

First cake was made by the AKL bakery. They were quoted $62, but paid $40...

1236174_946455205383810_2110461099810599955_n.jpg

I'm hoping it's just the photo and not the cake itself, but from the pic...not a fan of this cake. The person who bought it was very pleased and I guess I'd be better off with this at $40.

Next, a mini wedding cake from the GF...

This was $45...and as some of you know, the Cheshire Cat is my #2 fave character...so, I kind of love this. I really want an Alice in Wonderland themed cake at some point...so, I'm going to have to remember some of these little details.

This pirate themed cake was also done by the GF and was $40...

Wedding Cake Wednesday on the blog this week was kind of boring...at least from a cake standpoint. Their post was about candy apples. I like candy apples, but they're not cake. So, I decided to share a few pics in their gallery for wedding planning.

I still think this first style is perfect to be translated to a single tier with a Cinderella theme (with the 3D Cindy topper)...
wdw_wishes_cakes_castle_1.jpg

This next one is a topper option that's not posted in the anniversary cakes, but that would make for a cute cake...

wdw_wishes_cakes_disney9.jpg

This next one is a color treatment option on the castle topper. Now, I can't say for certain...but from what I know from others and buying a cake with the castle...the plain white chocolate castle starts somewhere around $100. The more you want done to that castle, the more the castle costs. I think it's around $150-165 to have the castle turned into the sandcastle topper...so, I'm guessing something like this lavender treatment would run around the same.
wdw_wishes_cakes_disney11.jpg

Here's another fun one for details...

wdw_wishes_cakes_disney23.jpg

And I can't remember if I've shared this mini before. I know I've posted similar cakes...but I can't recall on this specific one. Oh well, not like it hurt anyone to look at the same cake pic twice.

wdw_wishes_cakes_cupcakes8.jpg

Also thought this take on the delight style was cute...

wdw_wishes_cakes_cupcakes_11.jpg

Alright, that's enough for now. Time to go nurse the turkey hangover with what else? Yup, more turkey! :)

Another wedding cake...not the cutest thing IMO, but the whole thing is a "pull charm" tradition. I understand that it's a New Orleans tradition and the bridesmaids pull meaningful charms from the cake.

I know- I know...I've been neglecting my cake thread, but it's the holidays...and life's been insanity for a chunk of it. Usually good insanity though...so, that's a good thing :) Things haven't been too crazy in cake world...so, not a huge update, but I'll give you what I can...

$40 and it was delivered to Boma...so, the AKL bakery.

Epcot bakery...no clue on the price.

Small pic...but I think this is another AKL cake...

Things have also been pretty quiet with decent cakes on the Disney Wedding blog, but I suspect it's because they're ramping up for the big showcase in February.

Beyond that, if you haven't been following my trip report over in the trip report section...I made a holiday cake. As usual...I kind of hate it, but I'll share anyway.

16039633042_8b332fa9d4_z.jpg

It's a chocolate brandy pound cake, filled with cherries, covered in dark chocolate buttercream, and I used kirschwasser to flavor the fondant. The roof is a big rice krispie treat.

Hope everyone has a safe and happy New Year!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Happy Friday everyone!!! :) I little cake to take you into the weekend...

First cake was made by the Contemporary bakery and was about $65

No price, but this cake was also made by the Contemporary bakery...

Slipper presentation delivered to CRT

CRT Royal Highness pkg cake.

Next up is a cake made by an offsite bakery...Cha Cha Delights. The person was not happy. I guess they asked for baby yellow, but this was bright yellow (apparently much brighter than the pics). On top of that, there were no support dowels in the cake, so the cake slipped a lot during transport. This pic was taken after the buyer had some work done by another chef to fix the cake. The baker also had her meet her in a car park to pick up the cake...so, kind of odd. It was also pound cake, which I guess they weren't expecting. Now, I work a lot in pound cake, but I'm always clear with people that they're getting pound cake. In any event...this is the cake...

The same person also got this mini cake from the Contemporary. They think that yellow thing on the ears is a castle turret?

This cake- also Contemporary bakery was around $80...

Lastly, we have two wedding cakes...

Snowflakes...

I guess this would be nice if you're doing an elevated Frozen theme as well as any winter theme.

Next one is for the Star Wars fan in your life...

That's it for now! Have a great weekend :)

In Sept. we will be staying at WL, my kids will be having a birthday 10 and 14, (same day, for real). Will any bakery that makes mini cakes, make a mini choc cake with peanut butter filing? Just basic decorations, I have read about the CR rules on Mini Cakes, more about the flavor for us. Also what is the smallest size we can get a fresh strawberry filled cake? I'd rather not have a 10in cake as there is only 4 of us. Anniversary is day before Birthdays..September is insane in our house.

I know the Contemporary (which services WL) will do the mini cakes in chocolate and I'm nearly positive I've seen them with peanut butter filling. As for a fresh strawberry filled cake...as long as the decorations aren't overly ornate...they should be willing to do it on a 6". They usually only insist you bump up to the 8" cake if you want fondant and more elaborate décor (good news...smaller than a 10, bad news...an 8" is still a lot of cake). If you're looking for a more ornate strawberry filled 6" - you're better off trying the GF bakery (which means you'd have to be doing this for a meal at a GF or Poly restaurant).

If you do wind up having to go with an 8" cake, might I suggest ordering it for one of the earlier nights of your trip. We are fans of storing our cake in our room fridge (it's a tight squeeze, but it's doable) and snacking on it over the course of our trip. :hungry:

A little cake update for everyone...

No clue which bakery made this one...

And a couple of wedding cakes...really love the yellow, blue and white one. Sooooo me! Well, I'd like it a bit more ornate, but the colors are me. Gee...maybe this is why I like Donald Duck...these are his color and these are my fave colors to combine. Hmmmm...

Looks to me like they just piped over fondant cutouts for this...but it has to be inspired by a technique called brush embroidery. In any event, I like the look...although, I think I like the Mickey macaroons even more!

Do we know how much the Figment cake cost?

I didn't see a price quoted for that one. I am going to guess (and it's only a guess) that's it's probably around $80. I've seen cakes like that go for as little as $65 and as high as around $105. GF is usually about $5-10 more per cake than the other bakeries...so this is how I'm coming up with this guestimate.

Thanks, I am going to try to get reservations at Narcoossee's for the wife's bday, and she would love this cake. Can I assume that GF bakery will deliver it at the end of dinner to Narcoosee s?

The bakery typically delivers any cakes to the restaurant before dinner service begins. The cakes are usually kept in the restaurant's kitchen and your server will bring it out come dessert time. I usually confirm both at check in and with my server that they have my cake. If it's a surprise...you can discreetly ask...as they are pretty accustomed to this as well.

I am going to be ordering a cake for the first time for a trip in late May for my BFF's 30th birthday. We were originally eating at Cali Grill, but a change in itinerary and lack of ADR avalibility has moved us to Narcoossee's (no complaints, I've somehow only ever been to the bar here, so excited to try it out!). This thread has been enormously helpful since I had already started corresponding with The Contemporary before our plans changed. My friend's favorite movie is Mary Poppins & I had been told that wasn't an option because of copy right restrictions. I was in the process of coming up with some ideas when our plans changed & I found this thread! Glad to see they were able to accommodate your Poppins request (thinking I will be ok as long as I stay away from characters). Here were some ideas that I had found via my Pintrest addiction (looking at a single tier version of all of these):
IMG_3430.JPG
ry=480.jpg

My first thought was some variation on her dress or hat. I am not a fan of the funky eatable photo above, but I like the idea of the carousel horse.
IMG_3432.JPG
900x900px-LL-af5c5627_gallery4831531288078956.jpg

My other thought was some version of the London night sky. I'm partial to the second version (the first version dances dangerously close to the marketing material for the Broadway production). Thinking of having them do a measuring tape across the top?

And then there's this adorableness:

IMG_3431.JPG

From my research I'm thinking the characters would be a no-go, but I think you get the point without them.

Probably stating the obvious here, but I do realize that the last cake is NOT a Mary Poppins theme. It's just incredibly adorable and somewhat of a back up if I get any push back on my MP ideas. Or if they flat out refuse due to the copy right issues.
