We just finished a trip to WDW this month and we are returning in May. Can we re-use our magic bands?

How do you know if they are active? I thought you had to get new ones each trip, but if they can be reused if probably consider it.

They remain active unless you deactivate them in MDE. But you still receive new bands for each resort stay.

We always bring a couple of our old bands with us...to match our outfits

Go to magicbands under MDE and click on your band it will have a page that says active and there is an option to deactivate it.

And note that deactivating it does nothing more than turn it off. It is forever linked to your account. Thus why it's a bad idea to sell your old bands.
