not til the 16th. They rented a car to drive up there, then they'll both fly up here, and he'll be around here for a week or so, then he'll pack up his car and drive it down there. She'll be up here til June, but they'll commute on weekends. Not ideal, but doable for a while anyway.

It's Scouting for Food day here, where you leave a bag of canned or dried goods out on your doorstep and the Boy Scouts collect them for the Food Bank. I got up early, put our donations ina bag and opened the door to put them on the front step only to find that it's POURING out. So I brought the bag back in, quadrupled bagged it (ripped 2 other bags in the process, and put it back out there. Hopefully the boys will be around soon to collect them.

You may think Thanksgiving is so much of a food holiday, with a bonus week of leftovers, that one should not seek more in November. Take a look at this list of temptations, and think again!

Georgia Pecan Month
Good Nutrition Month
National Peanut Butter
Lover’s Month
National Pepper Month
National Pomegranate Month
Raisin Bread Month
Vegan Month

National Fig Week is the first week in November. Each day of the month has something to celebrate too:

November 1: National Bison Day
November 1: National Deep Fried Clams Day
November 1: National Vinegar Day
