So many parents naming their kids dumb names because they think it is cool. If I'm hiring someone to be nurse and my two options are a Bambi or Diane, I'm probably going to go with Diane. Call it nameism if you want but I don't care.

Between DH and me, we've heard so many "different" names that nothing surprises me anymore.

My wife said the same thing when she was teaching. At the same time hard for her to decide on some names for our kids because of bad name associations.

We were both teachers, so naming our kids was doubly hard. I'd suggest a name I liked and he'd veto it because he had a student with that name who gave him a hard time, and vice versa.
