Fort Wilderness Campsites

Tell me more about the FW Campsites. If I stayed there, we would be staying in a tent. I'm not much of a camper, would this be too much for me? I'm assuming there's restroom facilities and showers, what are these like? Any other information would be really helpful.

When is the best time of year to camp?

I have heard that people “winter over” and camp out during the winter months. Many decorate their campsites for the holidays. Late winter, early spring or in the fall would IMHO be best.
