Tomorrow my dad's cousin is taking my immediate family, my aunt, and my grandma out to eat. Now this is really weird because he is the cheapest person on the planet, at least when it comes to family. He's usually a pretty selfish person, so this is just out of the norm. We've come up with three possibilities: 1) He's actually doing this because he wants to, 2) He's actually going to make us pay, despite really giving us no option to say we don't want to go out, 3) He's going to ask us to move him back to Wisconsin from Texas. Which one will it be? Find out tomorrow, only on WITWIBS!

4) He won some form of the Texas lottery...? o_O ;) :)

He does all his gambling up here. And by here I mean Iowa. I guess on the drive back he stopped at 3 different casinos. This is why I say he is cheap when it comes to family. He's more than willing to spend his money at the casino or on the latest electronic device. The casino up here gives him "free" prizes all the time for how much he gambles. Some of those "free" prizes are 3-night stays in Vegas. That shows you how much he spends on gambling. Also he gets things like tents, which he will never use, but he still gets them and throws them in the basement.

The children of the Aunt hosting dinner are eating with their in-laws tomorrow. I'm just glad a relative within 30 minutes of me is having the dinner. It was not fun driving 90 minutes to 2 hours for Thanksgiving and Christmas.

I'm the oldest of 4 and the first to get married and start a family. The time we spent on the road those first several Holidays, although it was worth it, is just mind-numbing. All the great grandparents were at least 2 hours away. And yes, they all wanted to see us. :)

Sounds like an interesting (sarcasm) guy. ;)

Only 'Muricans spell it "meter". The rest of the world (who actually use metric) spell it as "metre".
And hey, we have no choice. You know - when in Rome ....

From good old Wikipedia:
The metre (International spelling as used by the International Bureau of Weights and Measures), or meter (American spelling), (SI unit symbol: m), is the fundamental unit of length (SI dimension symbol: L) in theInternational System of Units (SI)

At work, we are required to display lot sizes in metres; but houses are described in square footage, and room dimensions are in feet and inches. Don't ask me why - I don't know.

Wow. Didn't expect that last part. We've done enough international projects at the firm that some are getting pretty used to the metric system. :)

The lighting switches ....I would call in the electrician to fix that!

The Hubba Bubba made me laugh.
I loved the Hubba Bubba too. But the last one, the stick on the arrow over the manhole cover would have bugged me. Me, every thing has to be symmetrical. A picture frame or groups have to align, coffee tables must be straight. My kitchen chair legs (swivel seats) have to be straight, stuff like that.
