Smarter to Drive or Fly in my case?

We drive 21 hours every year. It saves us $500 to $1000 (that's factoring in everything from gas to food to hotels to wear and tear). We don't have less days there because we drive either. We decide how many days we want to be at WDW and add road time on to that. We travel with 2 girls, our...

Thanks! I will see if there's height info online too, just thought of that, LOL!

    Waterparks for YOUNG kids

We will be at WDW in 20 days. We have never visited the water parks, mostly because I'm sure there can't be much to do for very small kids. If we go, I'd want to make an entire day of it . . . this year our girls will be 8 years old and 4 years old. The 4 year old is in the 4th percentile...

How much longer will you stay at a Disney Resort?

I'm with captiankidd. Prices for accommodations are a huge consideration for us. Example (this is just an example): our budget is $2500, to stay on site is $3000, to stay off site is $2200. So, we can go to Disney and stay off site or not go at all, the answer is obvious, stay off site. I...

    Birthday suggestions

Take him to the Pirates League. Then to dinner, which I assume you are doing since you ordered a cake. Our daughter turned 5 on one of our trips, we did the BBB, then dinner at Kona Cafe.

    September/Oct. Plans, Opinions?

:drevil: Go to allears.net that web site has all the menus and pricing. I always pick out what I think we will eat to figure out our food budget. However, we are doing the free dining plan, so we eat alittle nicer than we would of we were paying cash.

    September/Oct. Plans, Opinions?

Restaurant choices look great. I personally never schedule back to back visits to one park. For example we are going in september and will do magic kingdom on day 1, 3 and 6. I think it makes for a better trip for us anyway.

    Life jackets, etc for kids?

Bring your own Last year we went in september, which isn't busy and at CSR there weren't enough for all the kids, and there weren't that many kids. You might be disappointed to get there and find this out and not be able to swim. Plus our 3 year old was too small to wear even the...

Going to Disney on a shoestring budget

I've heard NY is pretty affordable to fly out of. I'm from a very small city and flights are atleast $1500

Going to Disney on a shoestring budget

Free dining is worth $800, so it's SO worth it, one of the reasons we go in September, this is our last year to be able to go in September :( Of course if we didn't do the dining plan we wouldn't spend $800, probably $500, but either way it's free eating!

Going to Disney on a shoestring budget

Mapquest says 23 hours. Thing is, for us it's a choice, drive to Disney, or don't go. Those that fly can afford it, and I can't say if I'd fly if I had $1500 more to spend or not. We leave on a Friday and drive 6 1/2 hours (not long at all), stop at a hotel and get going on Saturday for an...

Going to Disney on a shoestring budget

We save A LOT by driving, over $1000. TIo us it's worth the savings, and we travel all over via car. This pricing is legit, we go every year to 18 months. Going during free dining saves us about $700. I'm a huge penny pincher, if I can save a $ I will. We don't have any less fun either...

Going to Disney on a shoestring budget

In September we are going for 6 days. We are staying at CBR, doing the dining plan, driving from Iowa (gas, hotels on road, food on road, etc) all for under $2800. That's $280 a day for everything for a total of 10 days. I don't know how one could spend as much a day as some of them listed...
