That figure and dialog is apparently going to be at the very end of the ride after the finale, likely in the space where Brer Rabbit and Mr Bluebird used to be.
It's possible for something to have a darker edge and create a sense of tension without being crap-your-pants terrifying. For example, i've never found Pirates of the Caribbean to be scary, but it certainly has an edginess to it as well. Even something as silly as Mr Toad's Wild Ride had it, as...
Incidentally, that Jurassic World ride at Universal Beijing is really cool. Sort of a marriage between AK's Dinosaur ride and Shanghai DL's Pirates tech. Has screen elements of course, but there's still a good amount of physical scenery and massive and impressive dino animatronics. Not a perfect...
You're the one who randomly brought up Universe of Energy. I just shifted it back into relevancy again by mentioning the ride that directly replaced it. It becomes much easier to compare apples and oranges when one of those fruits is a replacement for the other. I vastly prefer this apple (UoE)...
At least you're still mercifully sitting down during those parts. The transporter in Rise forces you to stand. But just for argument sake, lets exclude all of the parts that don't explicitly move through the dinosaur scenes. The moving parts were still much longer than Cosmic Rewind's coaster...
I should note that I find Rise to be absurly overrated. Same goes for Flight of Passage. This trend of making a standing portion of an attraction constitute the majority of a ride experience doesn't sit well with me (pun intended). I prefer a ride to be a good 8-15 minutes of sit down and enjoy...
No, It's part of the preshow/queue. I never said it wasn't integral to the experience. I said it isn't part of the ride. What the poster above you said about Haunted Mansion is a pretty apt analogy. The stretching room and other areas are also integral to the experience, but they are not where...
I don't count preshows and queues in actual ride time. They can be part of the experience, but I'm only counting the time you sit down in a vehicle and begin moving.
Space Mountain doesn't have any characters, dialog or even story at all. Nor is it based on an IP (or wasn't, some versions got a dumb Star Wars overlay, no fault of the original concept though). There was never any expectation or desire that it would have a villain.
Tiana is not only based...
It's longer if you count the queue and all of the parts where you stand up. But counting the time you actually sit down in the trackless vehicles, the actual main "ride" part, that's only 5-6 minutes long.
I hadn't considered that the pink river might be a flume for a boat ride. Then again, there's no telling if Disney had even been considering making this a water based attraction back when this art was made (they didn't add any boats to that river in the art). Wonder if the ride will even travel...
