Not only do I have zero interest, the very aesthetic of Mario actually annoys - yes - annoys me.

Any little one who rides Tiana's and gets frightened by the drop, will likewise be frightened on repeated rides because like you - they will still know the drop is coming.

There's no hard and fast rules.
The approach works, or it doesn't.
I found it to be overused at Uni, where it seemed every ride ended with the cast of the ride cheering for the riders at the end, or a "You did it!"
But I'll wait to see if it feels heavy handed in Tiana's.

When you entered Disney property, you were transported someplace away from the mainstream world.
Now, generic hotels are all too common on Disney grounds.
But PatF did have a villain.
Not only did it have one, he was a great one - essential to the story (as are all Disney villains) and one that excellent songs went along with.
Yes we've still got the drop, but the arc of this story could have been so great.
It should come from more than that.
It looks as though they have done beautiful work on this ride as I expected.
But they blew a tremendous opportunity by excluding excellent elements that were in the film.
It's really awful.
