Personally, I don't think making an overarching "Epcot universe" would make much of a difference with regards to the general public. Disney seems to be pushing Epcot toward more of a standard theme park model, so it's become more synonymous with Test Track, Soarin', or alcohol in the World...

I like the new rock paint job and I think it's a step up. The past isn't coming back, so this is the best we're getting. And I personally think it looks good.
