If Redd is their first LGBTQ main character, I won't be surprised.
Little kids have been pretending to be pirates since the days of Treasure Island. As I say time and time again, the issue was in part that the pirates have now been positioned as protagonists. There was nothing historically inaccurate about the scene itself. But to have little kids getting pirate makeovers outside of a ride where pirates are auctioning off a woman is downright horrible and needed to be changed years earlier.
Disney though did take it into a weird direction where pirates are outright good guys. Jake and the Neverland Pirates aren’t exactly rascals, scoundrels, villains and knaves.Little kids have been pretending to be pirates since the days of Treasure Island.
Any chance Jack will be replaced with Jake? Haha!Disney though did take it into a weird direction where pirates are outright good guys. Jake and the Neverland Pirates aren’t exactly rascals, scoundrels, villains and knaves.
So that means you DO mind the new scene.I don't mind the new scene, except the dialogue is just terrible. Maybe they'll fix that too
I like the old redhead. The new one seems out of place. That said, I'd rather look at a redhead than Jack.

Yeah I would rather they leave this whole subject out of the ride.So the rest of the Pirates are straight and we know this how? What does sexuality have to do with characters on a theme park ride about Pirates. I want to go back in time.
Exactly what I was thinking about.
...REALLY bad apples...Well, those are *good* pirates. There might be a few bad apples...
And for good measure make dance fighting her strength and snakes her weakness. If they are gonna change her I do hope she looks more like Karen Gillan who I am hoping is the lead of the pirates reboot, and please call her ship the Nebula.
For suggesting she take up rum? "Drink up, me kiddies, yo ho!"My (then 8 year-old) daughter ... was thrilled with the new Redd.
That is absurd. Look I am a male but I do have a younger sister, and two younger female cousins with whom I used to ride the ride with all the timE growing up and they loved it and never complained about the auction. I even rode it with my grandmother many times before she passed along with my mother and they loved it. What you are stating is not factually true.Just curious, are you female? If you're male and can't understand why a young girl might not feel the way you did, you might want to consider that your perspective is not the only valid one. My (then 8 year-old) daughter was rather unhappy about Disney depicting a woman being sold into slavery when she rode it, and was thrilled with the new Redd.
