Journey in Imagination
IMG_1794.JPG

The revised pavilion uses concepts from both incarnations of the ride but take the most inspiration from the classic Epcot Center ride Journey Into Imagination. To contrast the bright colors on the inside the outside is painted with a plain light purple. The pavilions sign is just a simple lowercase i with horns on the dot. The entrance area is rid of banners and the queue has been altered majorly. The staircase and foyer are opened back up and a restored to their former glory with the return of the mural from the original incarnation.

The queue makes its way around the spiral staircase and into the former image works area. Scattered throughout the queue are interactive exhibits quite like the post show to the original to spark the imagination. Among them is the return of the rainbow tunnel which serves as a transition from the futurist world of EPCOT to the magical realm of imagination. The boarding area is just beyond the tunnel the old ride vehicles are reused but equipped with a small steampunk gun attached. The rest of the vehicle is painted a bronze to match the gun.

The ride begins heading towards the first scene long time guest will be quick to recognize the familiar melody coming from the scene ahead. The group of 3 cars turns and faces the Dream Catcher, Dreamfinder and Figment’s Zeppelin.
Dre895027LARGE.jpg

“Imagination, imagination, a dream, a dream, a dream come true, just one spark lights up for you. Ah hello there I'm the Dreamfinder, and you're here because I need your help, ideas are sparking into the real world faster than ever and to keep up I need you to shoot the targets with your imaginatoray to spark ideas in the world real world.”

“Here's your first one,” says Figment as he flies around, “but you gotta hit me first.”

“Good luck Dream finders.”

“Oh can we go too,” says Figment.

“Of course Figment.”

They begin to sing again as your car leaves the scene and enters a magical forest. Among the exotic plants are mythical animals from unicorns to fairies and the flying dog from the Figment comics. All the creatures have targets on them much like the on Figment. Speaking of the dragon he’s painting a tree while Dreamfinder paints the wings of a giant butterfly.

The forest turns dark as we enter the nightmare realm. Monsters populate the darkness a spider and it's web hold figment hostage. A dragon breaths fire down at us. The best part every monster is an audio animatronic figure with a large range of motion.
th

We leave the forest and head towards the stars we past the moon and head towards a far away planet in a small space suit is figment hitchhiking on an Asteroid. The car turns into a futuristic lab inside dreamfinder is working with beakers and a weird colored liquid. Robots operates each equipment and Figment accidentally clones himself.
th

The next scene shows an orchestra of Figments playing One little Spark as the normal Figment conducts them. We enter Figments house and the scene is the same as it is today. The final scene goes as follows.
journeyintoimaginationwithfigment-upsidedownbathtub-1024x768.jpg

“Figment how did they do,”

Pretty great Dreamfinder but it could be better,”

“You know what to do,”

“Bonus Round!”

The screens blast up and the scene is what it is today but continues into the next room.

The guests exit into a gift shop and have the option to go up stairs to a Figment a Dreamfinder meet and greet. There is also a rest area and observation deck which looks down into the ride.

The Timekeeper a tribute to Robin Williams
the_timekeeper2.jpg

A brand new show replaces the Disney Pixar short film festival. The show based on the Magic Kingdom show of the same name uses state of the art Falcon's treehouse Circu Motion Theater this will be a show no one will want to miss. Guest shall make their way thru a short queue to the pre show. The pre introduces us to the timekeeper and the new character Cyclops a one eyed robot that shall time travel back in time much like nine eyes did. Cyclops will be played by John Goodman. Once the pre-show is finished guests shall continue into one of two theaters.

The theater will be customized just for the show in the center is a large platform in which our guide the timekeeper shall sit. The most interesting part is the randomization of the show much like Star Tours in which you can meet one of the many visionaries like Jules Verne, H.G Wells, Thomas Edison, Leonardo Da Vinci, Albert Einstein, and Walt Disney. We jump around time to see how what they did changed our lives in the present. The timekeeper will not be re cast instead dialogue from the original show and other movies Robin Williams worked on will be used to make up the show. Both theaters exit out to the jumping water not complete with the figment topiary currently behind Spaceship Earth.

The Universe Of Energy

IMG_1839.JPG

Exterior

Being one of the best exteriors at Epcot it will mainly be repainted again. A new generation of solar panels will be placed on the roof. The biggest change is the sign. Large brick letters connected to a miniature wind mill that if windy enough can generate electricity to light the sign up at night if not the solar on the roof will.

Lobby

Instead of a queue s system there will be multiple lobbies in which are interactive but educational games about wind power solar power and hydropower. The pre show area will be shrunk for this new space to exist.

Pre-show

The newest incarnation being much shorter than the last means the pre show can only be 10 minutes long as the ride is only 24 minutes long and a theater will be loaded every 12 minutes. In the pre-show area are now benches for guest to sit on.

A blast of light begins the show. The Big Bang the camera pans out to show the universe being created but not as we know it but as a universe of energy. A voice echoes through the room.

“The dawn of time and space but without the energy released from the that dense star none of it would have existed. All the energy in the universe created in an instant and I was there to witness it. I am the eternal energy keeper a being made up of purely energy. But that is not important but what is the future your planet is dying do to years of pollution and gases if you continue down this path the trees will die and birds will drop out of the sky. Come with me and we will find the answer to saving your future.”

As he says this the doors open and we are ushered into the theater. The ride begins and we see the first plant life on our planet.

“You don't exist quite yet but these plants are incredibly important to human society, in a few hundred million years they will be the oil and coal the main power source of modern times.”

A time lapse video starts and we see the plants decompose and are crushed up into the natural gases.

“One problem though they take millions of years to form and you're running out.”

Time speeds up and we jump millions of years forwards in time. We see dinosaurs and the continents drifting apart then ice spreads across the planet.

“In the cold desolate world how will humanity survive no longer do you have fur coats to keep you warm.”

The theater rotates into position and we start the ride part of the attraction.

“This is the start of human innovation fire.”

A cave man illuminates a cave and warms his tribe by bashing rocks together. The diorama continues fire leads to steam power. The discovery of black gold. The construction of massive dams. Wind farms and solar farms. The second theater portion of the show begins after the diorama showing our past.

The last section is dedicated to the future of energy from simple things like solar panels the size of shingles and plastic batteries. Too much larger things like algae powered cars and windmills set up in the ocean on old oil drilling platforms. The cars return to the first theater where they boarded to disembark.

Sorry about the long gap between posts but a lot of time went into fixing this ride while keeping the base theme of energy. Not counting the research I did on innovations in the field of power sources. Please leave comments and critiques.

I really like the new spin with the feel of the ride. It 'feels' more like imagination with a created host, rather than real people which can become outdated easily. A character similar to Dreamfinder, but with regard to energy and time, is a very inspired choice! I also like the diorama scene showing the evolution in energy history. I would at some point like to see a bit more detail in regards to some of the narration and/or visuals, but overall great work here!

Wonders Of Life
IMG_1841.JPG

The long abandoned pavilion returns in a glorious new fashion and brand new characters and attractions. Outside the gold dome the D.N.A. strand will return and so will the sign of to the right of the path. Trees around the pavilion will be cleared so that it can be seen easier than before and the path widened for more guest traffic.
EPCOT-Wonders_of_Life.jpg

Inside the pavilion the circus aesthetic will be removed in favor of a modern look with a lot of whites, blues, and yellows. Along with the new look new interactive exhibit will be placed around the center of the pavilion teaching guests about the importance of health in fun ways.

Inside Out

pixars_inside_out_2015-wide.jpg

Replacing Cranium Command is an Inside Out show with all the original intention of the first one. Set a year after the end of the film the show will follow Riley around a day of school, a hockey match, or a school play. 5 new audio animatronic figures will be built and new audio will be recorded with the actors that played them in the movie. Pixar will animate the short films for the show and the pre-show. After the ride a gift shop can be found selling merchandise from inside out. A meet and greet with the emotions call get to know your emotions will be located near the entrance of the ride.

Body Wars : Tumor Shutdown
IMG_1840.JPG

EPCOT’s first thrill ride returns with a new 3-D film, story and message. The plot goes as follow, We are visitors at a cancer research facility known as MECC (Micro Engineered Cancer Cures). We have been invited to witness a groundbreaking test of their newest hypothesis to prevent cancer. The leading scientist on this experiment is Dr. M. Sclar a brilliant man who plans on you stand in a safe observation deck. But a fundraiser has different plan. Instead you are to crew the ship going inside of the human to use the ship’s precise tools to separate the tumor and extract it. Good luck!

The queue of the ride goes thru a room about the history of cancer treatment from the Romans to the future. Then guests enter the briefing room where they learn everything I just explained above. Cast members then assign the guest to a vehicle and a row. A short safety instruction video reminds guest to pull on the yellow strap and that guest that get sick easily should refrain from this experience and wait at the exit. All that said and done we are introduced to our captain Buzz O’Reily otherwise known as Buzzy.
fcc018295SMALL.jpg

Of course not everything goes to plan and we almost end up spreading the tumor to the brain before we use manual control and exit the human body. The simulators movements will be tuned down along with what is seen in the film to prevent sick guests.

With that said we move onto the next pavilion but before we do leave your thoughts on the Wonders Of Life.

Wow! This is some great stuff @DlpPhantom !! Can't believe I am just now seeing all this. To respond to one of your very old prompts, I thought of a few Jungle Cruise jokes: After naming a few different types of flowers on the cruise, the skipper says: "If you look to your left, folks, do you see that large, green plant with the leaves? ... yea, yea that one! That's what we call a bush." As the skipper helps guests board the boat, "You remind me of a younger version of myself! ... yea, I was pretty awful at your age..." As the cruise approaches the waterfall, "Now folks, have any of you heard the curse of the ancient waters? Legend says that stuffy cruise guests who don't compliment their skipper will get mysteriously wet!" Finally, as guests get off the boat, "Now folks, as you go on about your day, don't forget to submit any of your complaints about the voyage to Universal Studios in Orlando."

Space the Final Frontier
IMG_1842.JPG

Space the Final Frontier expands on the ideas presented in mission space with concepts from the proposed space pavilion and the spirit of horizons.

Outside the pavilion is a rocket prepared for launch behind it is a futuristic facility E.P.C.O.T. mission control. Inside the facility is two different experiences one is a shuttle rocket to a space station orbiting the moon Brava Centauri or begin training to pilot a rocket in Mission Space a flight to the moon.

Mission Space
MISSPA_1_998.jpg

A revised version of the original ride has guests be responsible for piloting a rocket full of guests traveling to Brava Centauri. Obviously, the guest pilots are unexperienced and autopilot is engaged to prevent mistakes. Until garbage from a previous rocket takes out an engine and sends the rocket on a crash course with the moon so autopilot is deactivated and it is up to the rookies to get everyone safely to the space station. Good luck.

The other ride is very calm and is done is the spirit of an old circle vision movie and has no motion at all. It has the same story as the other ride except when things go wrong they can’t do anything. After both rides disembark the exit into Brava Centauri. At the far end of the atrium is view port into the stars beyond our solar system.

There are two attractions once inside Brava Centauri one walk through of the living spaces of the station and a D ticket show.

The show called Deep Space combines Nasa’s latest discoveries and Falcon’s Treehouse’s latest theater the HybriDome. The show narrated by Neil Degras Tyson is a planetarium format but does more than show some stars instead it travels to the past and tells of mankind’s history of space travel from the works of Jules Verne the moon landing and many more achievements. Then it travels into the future using the latest Nasa discoveries we are shown are future on many real planets beyond the solar system created in CGI by ILM. The ultimate celebration of space travel Deep Space will be updated over the years to reflect the latest discoveries.

The second attraction found in Brava Centauri is a walkthrough of the stations living space. The tour starts in a bedroom were citizens on the space station live. The bed is nailed to the floor and has straps to keep the user in bed and not floating above in. Next is a canteen which showcases what kind of food would be eaten in a space station like this one. The next room is the entertainment room it has a large cinema screen with movies playing on it a wall with computers and gaming consoles attached. And a small toy room with toys floating in midair. The classrooms are next any kids on the station will still need to be taught lessons a digital white board will be at the front of the room. The teachers and their student’s desks will be nailed to the floor and at each desk is a tablet to use as to not waste the limited paper supply. Each chair has a seat belt to keep kids from floating in the air during a lesson. The last room is a gym complete with recreations of the equipment on the international space station right now.

Guests exit the station thru a shop.

*Note this was written before d23 and going on this project will only include things officially confirmed before I started in April 2016.

The final Future World pavilion is of course The World of Motion. The main attraction in this pavilion is Chevrolet’s Test Track. The only change made to test track are new pieces to edit your car design with.
IMG_1843.JPG

The Main new edition here is a D-ticket family dark ride A World in Motion. The ride uses a new omni-mover system which has the vehicles attached to a track on a wall. The vehicles can also be using a robotic arm extend away from the wall and into a scene.
IMG_1846.JPG

A world in motion omnimover demo 2.jpg

A world in motion omnimover demo.jpg
The queue for the ride is rather simple with blue prints from vehicles of every era lining the walls from the first wheel, a roman chariot too the 2017 Chevrolet Camaro. Boarding the vehicle is done like any other omni mover watch your step on the moving platform.

“Hello there” says our narrator a strong and bold female voice, “thanks to the state of the art General Motors facilities we will be traveling back in time to see how it truly is Fun to Be Free.”

“We start about 600,000 years ago at the birth of humanity unlike primitive apes we use to feet to get around follow the food where ever it goes.” The scene is set is a cave with cave men all exhausted after walking some are blowing on their feet others stick their feet in a small pile of snow.

“About 200,000 years later things have finally improved with the dawn of civilization animals can now be domesticated and we have many new models to choose from.” Scene goes the same way the original did with people picking out and trying to ride all sorts of animals from zebras, camels, to lions and rhinos.

“Things are finally starting to roll as we invent the wheel.” The scene is the first to use the unique features of the ride vehicle pressing the car up against a screening a projector behind the screen moves in cinque with the vehicles. The video playing is a collection of ancient wheels most are circles some, well aren’t.

“Now we’re really going places as traders an explores discover the power of the wind. Now they proceed to navigate and map the open ocean.” This scene is a recreation of the famous scene from world of motion as a sea-serpent stares down a sailor looking through a looking glass.
th

“The roman empire an age of innovation brings about safer travel by creating a vast network of roads for traders to commute across.” The scene uses screens to show roman traders as the travel of into the outer reaches of the empire.

“The renaissance in Europe turns out many inventions, some even dream to fly like birds thru the sky.” Another scene using screens has us following Leonardo Devinci as he flies on his contraption before losing momentum a plummeting to the ground.

“Next we steam ahead into a new frontier the iron horse. The brave American pioneers truly show us again that It’s Fun to be Free.” The scene is also on a screen as we see Americans traveling west by rail, boat, horse, covered wagon or on foot.

“A fine step in the right direction the horseless carriage invented carrying a new generation faster than ever before.” The scene shows a traffic jam as vehicles rush to get places. People are furious there are animals everywhere and we are getting out of there.
mtraffic.jpg

“Next we head for the skies as a man takes the first ever flight on an airplane.” The scene is created by screens once again and shows the famous footage of the twelve second flight.

“Right out of Science fiction submarines are created allowing us not only to travel above the water but now up to 20,000 leagues below it.” The scene shows the Nautilus in its glory as its captain waves to us

“Where to go next well the cosmos of course.” The scene is shown on screens and show a montage of rockets blasting off into space.

“There’s no stopping now our story has only just begun now it’s your turn to help general motors better our world by making the next great leap in transportation. Our world is truly a World in Motion but will you join it.” The car leaches us into the future showing us the future of transportation from self-driving cars, hover bikes, flying cars invented carrying a new generation faster than ever before.”

The Final ride in the pavilion is across the street in the lagoon, Aquatopia from Tokyo sponsored by Yamaha. The bronze and steam punk feel is replaced by the silvers and blues from Test Track. Futuristic sail boats and motor boats decorate the lagoon and give guests some scenery to enjoy while in queue or on the ride. Lastly is a new dining location Wright Brother’s Café replacing the long-forgotten Odyssey. The inside of the restaurant is decorated with models and pieces of planes with a recreation of their plane on the roof. Also on the roof is the Sky-High Club a bar location with magnificent views over World Showcase Lagoon.

Mexico
pixar-coco-movie-poster-1.jpg

The first stop on our tour of the world is Mexico. There are no changes to the exterior of the pavilion. Replacing the Grand Fiesta tour is Coco adventures in the afterlife. AAS the movie has yet to come out I don’t know the specifics of the ride other than it will retain the boats, track, and first scene of the previous ride.

Norway
norway-pavilion.jpg

There is to explore in Norwegian culture but the pavilion is already crowded and is in far better shape than some other pavilions. The Stave Church would once again feature an exhibit about actual Norway. Not much can be done about Frozen ever after but since the park has more rides there would be no fast pass tiers. Also, the end of the backwards section would once again be exposed to the outside.

China
a9f4480e246850952a657782b56044d6.jpg

A new 360* circle vision movie will replace the one currently there. A Mulan dark ride based on the upcoming live action movie will be placed behind the pavilion. This would be a c ticket attraction with lots of special effects and screens. The ride would also feature multiple animatronics of characters from the new movie. The ride vehicle would be a Chinese dragon puppet like the ones used in a Chinese New Year celebration.

Russia
The-Front-View-Of-The-Kremlin-Palace-Picture.jpg

One of the new pavilions to world showcase Russia is represented by a scaled down recreation of the Saint Basil's Cathedral. Surrounding the church are smaller buildings forming a square a small fountain is in the center. Inside the Cathedral is a waiting area for the show in his pavilion. The waiting area is decorated with museum exhibits showcasing the construction and history of Saint Basil's Cathedral.

The Rite of Music

This new theater show located in the Russia pavilion at EPCOT is a tribute to the music of Russia as many great compositions of music have be made by Russian composers. Along with a live orcastra the show also features live dancers.

Holland
beautiful-holland-wallpaper_01054488_139.jpg

The smallest pavilion the Holland pavilion features a full-scale windmill as it’s weenie and is the entrance to the Windmill Walking Tour. Guests are welcomed to walk through the wind mill at their own pace and marvel at it’s precisely engineered gears and pulley’s.

Germany
Germany-1.jpg

The Germany pavilion has been there since day 1 and has never had an attraction so for Epcot’s 40th anniversary the forgotten about plan to add a boat ride has returned. The Rhine River Cruise is a C-ticket boat ride like the Grand Fiesta Tour and takes guest for a cruise down the Rhine River to see miniature recreations of German landmarks.

Switzerland
switzerlandpavilion1.jpg

Another Epcot expansion plan long forgotten Switzerland is located behind the model trains in-between Germany and Italy. The main ride here is the Matterhorn Bobsleds. The family friendly bobsled coaster has no tracks and is free to ride thru the rock work. To avoid the comparisons with Expedition Everest this Matterhorn has no Abominable Snowman. (Note the mountain is much smaller than it is in the concept art.)

Italy
3952961052_177ac52c4e_z.jpg

One of the most changed pavilions is Italy. Everything is as it is now but a small expansion themed to the lost city of Pompeii. the brand-new ride in Italy is Mount Vesuvius a coaster thru the volcano the destroyed Pompeii.

Mount Vesuvius
vesuvius_a_.jpg

This brand-new roller coaster ride at Epcot is in Italy and can be found in its own little area at the foot of the artificial mountain. The adventure starts when you enter a museum dedicated to the ruins of Pompeii. Some artifacts found in the queue are real but not all of them. Exiting the museum, we end up in a small train station taking guests of the museum to see the mountain. The train is old but will still work for this journey the guest board the Train and we are off. Guest travel up the cliff side into a cave near the top only too realize the volcano is erupting once again. The train Heads backwards out of the mountain with lava only feet behind us before dropping out of the mountain and returning back to the station.

The American Adventure
512px-America_-_EPCOT_-_February_2009_by_hyku.jpg

The stage located along the water is removed and the theater is used for Epcot’s new nighttime spectacular ImagiNations. A new table service restaurant is opened where the lounge is now and serves the best of American cuisine.
