Alright, guys. I've done some revising, and have settled on a final concrete premise, along with a revised title. This story takes place only a few short years before the events of 'The Hobbit.'

Flight of the Elves: A Middle Earth Adventure

It is the Third Age. Sometime before Thorin and Company embark on a quest to take back the Lonely Mountain, Elrond sends his guests, a group of Elven visitors from the forest realm of Lorien, back home aboard a gondola carried by Gwaihir, one of the Great Eagles. Elrond insists that the trip carries little risk, despite rumblings of goblins in the vicinity of the Misty Mountains. When a clan of goblin hunters disrupt Gwaihir's flight, however, guests are sent tumbling into the depths of the Misty Mountains, where they come across a few surprises…

As you can see, we as guests play the role of Lorien elves being escorted from Rivendell by one of the Great Eagles. The vehicle will shift from a gondola style ride with the eagle to a KUKA style attraction after we are intercepted by a rogue troll, who attempts to make us his dinner, only to be met with a swarm of goblins who wish to turn us over to the Goblin King.

Here's a breakdown of the ride itself.

· Loading (Rivendell)
· Scenic flight over Rivendell
· Flight to Lorien
· Airborne Goblin Attack
· Descent into the Misty Mountains

· Goblin Town/Cave Troll Abduction
· Tumble into Gollum's Cave
· Goblin Mercenaries
· Eagle Rescue

Conclusion:
· Emergency Return to Rivendell

Everything looks spectacular, BasketBuddy. Seriously.

Everything looks totally fine to me. The only thing that I wish that we could do that we can't really is have a darker queue. Rivendell is a pretty bright and beautiful place. Though I like the deceptiveness of having the ride start in such a safe place and quickly shift to this super dark experience, I still sort of wish that the queue could stay darker.

Second thing, and please stop me if this idea sounds stupid as I don't want to screw with the lore: seeing that the ride takes place before The Hobbit, could we possibly have guests descend into the Lonely Mountain? Perhaps with at least a short encounter with Smaug.

I'd also suggest possibly having a a few more references to the actual characters as well. Nothing huge, but I think the ride might tie to the films a bit better if we perhaps had encounters, or at least mentions of characters like Gollum or, even one of the smaller wizard roles like Radagast. I also think that an Ent encounter could be a super cool set piece.

God, I feel like a film producer talking out of his @ss to the person who actually knows what they're talking about. Sorry, and if those ideas don't work, that's totally fine. Literally my only worry is that we'd be remiss to not at least mention a few characters past Elrond.

No worries. You're totally right on the money about everything. Gollum will absolutely be part of the ride. We can include Beorn the shapeshifter, who fits geographically, as his home isn't far from the Misty Mountains. Radagast could make an appearance in the queue, and possibly save us from the goblin tunnels near the end. The only thing we can't really include is the Lonely Mountain. I know it hurts lol but it's far to the east of the Misty Mountains, and doesn't really make sense in terms of realism. The ride is very true to Tolkien's map of Middle Earth, and I can't see us breaking that realism, even if it would have been cool to visit a sleeping Smaug. At any rate, here are some roles I have up for grabs.

Music:
This one is important. If someone can whip up a track list of some music for the Rivendell queue, that would be great. If someone could do a ride mix (about 3.5 minutes long) that would be spectacular.

Concept Art:
I've got the exterior down, but if anyone can do any art, any at all, that would help make the project more versatile.

Presentation Website Setup:
I don't have any idea how to do this. If anyone wants to help put the entire project into a website format, that would be great.

Ride Scenes:
I could use some descriptions for the ride scenes. I'll have to edit them toward the end, but just take a look at the descriptions I put up, study the movies a bit, and come up with something that would work. Remember, when we get the to Misty Mountains, we're picked up by a Cave Troll and the ride becomes like Forbidden Journey.

Any other contributions are appreciated.

That sounds totally fine. In terms of Smaug, I think that I had the Misty Mountains confused with the Lonely Mountain, haha. And I literally just realized that I totally missed that there was a Gollum scene in your scene layout. Oops.

Normally, I'd be able to do a ride mix, but I'm leaving tomorrow for Spring Break, so I don't think I'll really be able to do anything past writing. I could totally take a few scenes. I'll get back to you on which ones, but that's probably about what I'll be able to contribute this project.

I'm still slightly worried about the rest of the team as most of them have yet to show up....

This is a pet project of mine, so it's getting done no matter what. I'd like their involvement, but we can't hold the project backward at any rate.

Absolutely.

If they don't end up showing up, I'll be more than happy to help with anything, really. I could probably possibly set up a (probably terrible) website as well, if it gets to that point. I just won't have time to edit anything together, really.

On a side note, I don't want to get cocky, but this should be some of my best concept art I've ever done. Pretty fitting for a franchise like Lord of the Rings.

We could possibly use this for music in the exterior and queue.

Oh, and if you want me to do any scenes for the ride, I will gladly do some.

Even just a few descriptions would do wonders. You don't have to be entirely familiar with the lore. I'll be sure to fill in any blanks if there are any to fill. Just refer to my ride scene list and tell me what you might want to work on. I'll take care of everything up to the point where we leave Rivendell.

I'm sorry, I haven't been around much lately. I was out of town over the weekend - at Disneyland for the 50th anniversary of Pirates and the temporary return of the Electrical Parade! What all is there to do? I have little knowledge of Lord of the Rings or anything by Tolkein, for that matter.

Can you come up with a gift shop themed after Rivendell? Perhaps some unique merchandise?
