World of Weather - A Brand New Pavillion
Featuring Storm Runner: A Chase through the Eye of the Storm

Weather-Blog-Image.jpg

Epcot welcomes you to the wonderful world of Meteorology, an untapped field of science at the park, in this brand new pavilion in Future World. Guests will travel directly into the eye of the storm, using brand new, advanced technology to track weather patterns throughout the world.

Backstory
Guests have signed up to be "test dummies" (easter egg to the original attraction) in an experiment that could potentially change the game in the world of Meteorologic science. They will take a tour through Progress City Institute of Technology and enter the exciting world of weather.

Facade
The facade of the attraction will be re-themed to the Progress City Institute of Technology's exterior, a much more modern and futuristic look for the pavilion. In addition, the god-awful canopy will be removed and brand new landscaping will grace the pavilion, creating a much cleaner and presentable look for this area of the park.

Queue
Guests take a tour through the labs of Progress City Institute of Technology, before entering the pre-show and boarding their ride vehicle.

Pre-show
Taking the place of the current "Design your own car" room, guests will have the story/situation of the attraction explained to them, in order to provide for a better, and clearer experience for the attraction.

Ride Experience
Guests will experience many tests and experiments in the Progress City Institute of Technology labs with their new Storm Runner 3000 before they can encounter the real dangers of the storm. Guests will encounter guests of wind, mist, extreme heat, snow, and spectacular special effects that will leave guests amazed. Throughout their journey, riders will collect data on the machine to help it hold up in the harsh affects of extreme weather. Once guests have completed their tests, they will enter the air lock, where a simple door separates them from the eye of the storm and the lab.

An addition to the attraction will be an inclosed track, where the previous outdoor section. Special effects will recreate hurricane level conditions, and screens will help make this scene even more believable. The section of the attraction where the ride wraps around the front of the facade will no be hidden/enclosed, with the new Progress City Institute of Technology facade blocking it. Guests return from their wild adventure and unload.

Post-show
Have you ever wanted to know more about weather, water/wind cycles and more? Well, now's your chance! You can find all sorts of scientific and interactive games to play centered around the subject after you exit the attraction. The post-show is also accompanied by a brand new (air conditioned!) gift shop to pick up unique merchandise options. Finally, there is also an entrance/exit for those to short to ride or for those who choose not to experience the attraction.

The Iliad and The Odyssey
Odyssey%20Restaurant%20050812-L.jpg

Named after the two ancient Greek epic poems attributed to Homer, the Iliad and the Odyssey, this new pavilion will be home to a permanent Food and Wine style, ever-changing restaurant, with a backbone of distinct Mediterranean flavors.

The Odyssey is one of Epcot's unused and dormant infrastructures, and giving it a year-long purpose, while also tying in with one of their most cherished events (the Food and Wine Festival) might bring life to the pavilion.

The interior of the building will be draped in Mediterranean inspired designs, adding to the ambiance of the restaurant. The restaurant will serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner, with an ever-changing menu based on the seasons.
mediterranean-home-decor.jpg

While the restaurant will have an enriched Mediterranean menu of fish, meats, salads, and more, each week, for the 52 weeks of the year, there will be a new country represented on the menu, as a sort of "permanent" Food and Wine festival.

This way, each time you visit Iliad and the Odyssey, you'll have the option to try a new flavor. With the 11 Nations around the World Showcase Lagoon, the countries added to the menu each week will, more often than not, be countries that are not represented in World Showcase.

Countries such as Australia with Australian sirloin from a Wagyu cattle.

Haitian cuisine, including fried pork, red bean rice, salad, and plantains.

Mongolia is also featured with the distinguished Mongolian Khorkhog.
56-3949448-mongol-bbq.jpg

This is just a sampling of the many countries and palates that are represented on the Iliad and the Odyssey menu. The restaurant is also in a prime location as the large glass windows look out onto the lagoon where you can see Illuminations: Reflections of Earth, with a lovely view. Located off the main path in Epcot, this location will give guests a new perspective on the theme park. It will also ensure that unused buildings in Epcot are functioning with a purpose, which has been something that has plauged Epcot over the years. It also pays homage and respect to the original restaurant name, while keeping the same Homer inspired title, just expanding it with his other famous work.

Ultimately, The Iliad and the Odyssey will hope to bring a new flavor to bridge the gap as a transition from Future World to World Showcase, while also bringing the Food and Wine Festival to guests all year round.

With the massive crowds now coming to Disney's Hollywood Stduios, Disney decided that they needed to add some smaller rides such as flat rides to the park's lineup. That flat ride they decided to go with was...

The Great Balloon Race -

untitled_by_tcool123-da4zfvh.png

Queue -

As guests wander to Andy's Backyard they may notice something different to the side. Large colorful balloons are spinning all around tied down from floating by large pieces of furniture. Surrounding the ride is dense jungle foliage hiding the ride from Andy's Backyard. Going down the new path guests will encounter a house in the middle of the jungle, strange. Entering the house guests will see they have entered the World of Up. The house looks much the same except for the fact there's no furniture, and the jungle is slowly reclaiming the house. Occasionally from a hole in the ceiling Kevin will pop his head down, and surprise guests.

Guests proceed into the next room where they that someone is in fact living in the house.Guests soon see a picture of Carl and Russel eating ice cream on the street curb. Another picture shows Carl giving Russel the Ellie Badge. Various other photos show Carl, Russel, Doug, and Russel's mom celebrating birthdays, high school graduation, pet school graduation, college graduation, and a rather grim picture showing a grown up Russel with a much older looking Doug looking at Carl's grave. Thus allowing guests to assume that much time has passed, and that it is most likely Russel who has found his back. There's one newspaper clipping of note in the room. Setting up the story that Russel now runs the South American Wilderness Explorers, and has organized a balloon race inviting all to participate. Cast members will then direct standby guests to the left side, and fastpass guests to the right.

Stats & Info -

For the Little Big Country of Slovakia and Team Hufflepuff, I proudly present
Giselle’s Enchanted Adventure
enchanted.jpg

Disney’s Hollywood Studios is in severe need of capacity. It is also in need of family friendly rides outside of Toy Story Mania. This all new ride based on the criminally underrated movie, Enchanted is sure to fit in both those molds. Replacing the Voyage of the Little Mermaid, Giselle’s Enchanted Adventure is just one part of a fully reconstructed Animation Courtyard.
Facade
Where a large marquee for Voyage of the Little Mermaid once presented itself, there is now a beautiful marquee advertising the Fantasyland-style dark ride. The newly expanded building beckons us in closer and we enter what was once an outdoor queue, now a fully air conditioned and pristine building.
Queue
As if by magic, we’re suddenly in an expansive forest. We see the kingdom of Andalasia in the distance and Giselle’s forest home. As we move closer, we walk into Giselle’s home and board omnimover, with new designs to look like the famous carriages of New York.
Scene 1
We see Giselle being chased by a troll before being rescued by Prince Edward. We continue into the next scene.

Scene 2
Giselle is pushed into the well by Queen Narcissa.
Scene 3
We go through a speed tunnel as Giselle is turned from animated to human.
Scene 4
We arrive through a manhole into a full recreation of Times Square.
Scene 5
We see Giselle sing Happy Working Song as she cleans an apartment with the pests and vermin of New York
Scene 6
Robert takes Giselle out into the city as they talk about themselves.
Scene 7
Giselle sings That’s How You Know in Central Park in the largest scene of the ride.
Scene 8
We move to the King and Queen’s Ball as Robert and Giselle dance to So Close.
Scene 9
Giselle battles the evil Narcissa as a dragon on the rooftops of New York, with animatronic Giselle and the dragon on a screen.
Scene 10
We see Giselle and Robert live sort of happily ever after as they wave us off. We exit out of the ride and continue our adventures at Disney’s Hollywood Studios and live Ever Ever After.
Once this ride opens in 2020, Disney's Hollywood Studios is sure to have yet another draw to it's expanding list of adventures.

@IAmNotAHufflepuff Your move.

The Dark Forest

Replacing Dragon Challenge at the Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal Orlando Florida will be The Dark Forest, which combines walk-through interactive elements with 6 unique "show" locations featuring characters and locations from the Harry Potter series.

Approaching from Hogsmeade Village, you will enter the Forest and veer off towards the left for the 1st stop to visit a full-scale version of Hagrid's Hut, featuring Hagrid, as he tells the guests that Mr. Filch has sent you (the students) on detention with Hagrid as he treks through his adventures, with the 2nd stop interacting with Hagrid's half brother, Grawp.
latest

At this 10 minute point on the 30 minute walking tour adventure, small children and anyone easily frightening by spiders or loud noises, can opt to take the "less-intense" walk-through, making a right hand turn and meeting up with the mighty Centaurs as they guide you back to Hogsmeade, while the rest of the tour meet Aragog and the Mr. Weasley's Flying Car saves the day before you get eaten.

You continue on to the outskirts of the forest as you enter inside the Shrieking Shack where you see Sirius Black and Professor Lupin, before the moon comes out and Lupin turns into a Werewolf and you narrowly escape, before bumping into the Whomping Willow Tree and watching as the massive Animatronic motion tree sways and smashes Mr. Weasley's car.

You then meet up with Hagrid at the end of the interactive walking trail who aloofly and cheerfully asks how your experience in the Dark Forest went before exiting out back to Hogsmeade Village.

Opening in the spring of 2020, the Odyssey pavilion will now host the table-service restaurant, Flavors of the World. Flavors of the World will feature food from countries both represented and not represented in the World Showcase. The food served will be in small, affordable portions, so that guests can sample food of many different backgrounds. Guests order 3-6 samples for themselves on average. There would be three main dining rooms, with different atmospheres.

Screen Shot 2016-06-03 at 6.04.28 PM.png

The Easel Room
Screen Shot 2016-06-03 at 6.08.47 PM.png

“The beginning is the most important part of the work.” -Plato

This room is the restaurant’s upscale dining room. It is in the back of the pavilion, and non-accessible to guests dining in other portions of the restaurant. It has its own bathroom, and cast members in this area wear white and black suits.

The room would feature tables with white black accessories, as seen above. The “blankness” of the room is meant to inspire creativity through one's decisions in the culinary arts and encourage guests to try new things.

Culture Rooms

Screen Shot 2016-06-03 at 6.09.23 PM.png

“A people without the knowledge of their past history, origin and culture is like a tree without roots.” -Marcus Garvey

The culture rooms consist of five small rooms themed to Asian culture, Italian culture, Greek culture, Mediterranean culture, and Cajon culture. Each room fits 5-14 tables.

The Greek Room
The Greek room is in the center of the culture rooms complex. It is surrounded by four brick walls and has a canopy of leaves above, in order to make it feel like it is located inside a small, authentic courtyard. A fountain of Athena is the centerpiece of the room. This room has seven tables.

The Italian Room
The Italian room is themed like an Italian wine cellar. Wine bottles hang from the ceiling and paintings of Roman gods and goddesses hang on the walls. This room has thirteen tables

Hawaiian Room
This room is covered outdoors. It overlooks newly created foliage and water to truly immerse guests. From this side, the walls look wooden. A lush waterfall can be seen with statues of Tiki gods in the foliage. This room has nine tables.

Asian Room
The Asian Room is decorated much like the Nine Dragons Restaurant. The walls are painted red and paper dragons hang from the ceiling. This room has fourteen tables.

Cajon Room
This room features a wall of hot sauce and the other wall contains a mural of New Orleans. This is the smallest room by far and has only five tables.

The Imagination Room (With Figment and Friends)

a9f6a523627bec06e5ea70d8f2b9ce61.jpg

“I am enough of an artist to draw freely upon my imagination. Imagination is more important than knowledge. Knowledge is limited. Imagination encircles the world.”

This is the largest of the rooms and features odd and mismatched furniture. Guests can see that some of the furniture is inspired by various cultures, but some are just — for lack of a better word — wacky. Figment, Mickey, Mulan, Aladdin, and Hercules roam the section during both lunch and dinner, making this the best room for families. The represent the connection between Imagination and Culture.

Even with the addition of Avatarland, Animal Kingdom still needs the infusion of rides, especially family-friendly ones. And tell me.. what better way to include more all-ages attractions than classic dark rides?

Disney's Animal Kingdom is proud to present its newest D-ticket attraction, a charming boat dark ride themed around the classic 1967 animated film The Jungle Book.

I am aware about the remake, but I figured it would be more charming and sensical to theme the ride to the animated film.

Located in the Asia section of the park, in an expansion plot close to the Flights of Wonder Stage,
The Jungle Book promises to deliver lots of well themed fun for the entire family. What are we waiting for? Let's take a peek! :D

FACADE and QUEUE:

danny-devid-jungle-book-temple.jpg

Looking towards the facade, we see a ginormous Indian temple rising above our heads, looking suspiciously similar to the one inhabited by one King Louie.. :bored:

Walking up the steps to enter the palace, we see a large marquee labeled
The Jungle Book with the Stand-by and Fastpass+ lines marked beneath it. Journeying into the heart of the temple, we look in awe at the grand temple interior, looking straight out of an Indian rain forest. However, at the end of the temple segment, the decor changes and becomes... a bit different. ;)

hqdefault.jpg

We weave through a nighttime jungle, straight out of the reels of the aforementioned 1967 film, only illuminated by dim moonlight. Fireflies hum in the breeze. The calm jungle path is lit up by man-made torches. Although the queue is nothing fancy, it does provide great atmosphere before boarding the ride.

We approach a wooden, yet worn down jungle dock. A sign points right, leading towards the man village. Passenger Indian boats carry goods and people throughout the jungle river. We, as riders, are allowed to embark on one of these boats and set off on our journey. Each boat can seat 8 passengers at one time, 2 in each row.

SCENE 1: Finding Mowgli:

Our boat takes a left turn, disembarking from the dock. Looking to our left, we see an abandoned boat, just like ours, bobbing in the water. Lying inside is the tiny infant Mowgli, sleeping soundly. Bagherra can be seen peeking out of an underbrush (projection).

SCENE 2: Mowgli and the Wolves

Thorough a set of jungle crash doors, we find ourselves near a wolf den, now finally emerging into the daylight. An animatronic Mowgli can be seen playing with his wolf siblings, while Bagherra can be seen, perched on a nearby tree branch above our heads. Turning the corner however, and we can catch a faint glimpse of Sher Kan, looking ahead very displeased.

Scene 3: Departure

In a very small scene, done by projections, we overhear that Mowgli must leave the jungle to the man-village for his own protection. He and Bagherra can be seen departing, heading towards the forest behind them.

Scene 4: Kaa
The soothing sounds of "Trust In Me" can be heard ahead. After taking another left turn, we see Mowgli wrapped in the hungry embrace of Kaa.

giphy.gif

Bagherra is dozing off while this happens. However, as we enter the next set of crash doors, we hear a loud growl and the gasping sounds of the serpent. Mowgil has been saved! :D

Scene 5: The Elephant Parade

Up ahead, we see Mowgli marching in the parade of large elephants, led by the great Colonel Hathi, trumpeting their marching sounds proudly.

Unfortunately, Bagherra can be seen yet again..

Bagherra: "What am I going to do with that man-cub?"

Turning a bend, we can see a screen with Mowgli running away from the strict panther, towards the other river bank below.

Scene 6: Bare Necessities

e8c7a4ee-7ec7-4412-bd74-17034432ffcf.gif

In the big, sprawling scene of the attraction, we see Baloo and Mowgli signing and dancing to the iconic musical number "Bare Necessities". However, through another screen, we see the monkeys of King Louie nab Mowgli and make a mad dash towards his palace.

Scene 7: I Wanna Be Like You

The next scene takes place in King Louie's palace. The king tells Mowgli his plans to create fire and be like the other men. However, in the second leg of the scene, a disguised Baloo helps him escape by dancing with the king.

Scene 8: Sher Khan:

villains-sherekhan.gif

Suddenly, as the sky turns a gray-blue shade, Shere Khan confronts Mowgli, wanted to finally get his long-awaited dinner. However, Mowgli is prepared, and through animatronics and projections, manages to burn Shere Khan with the "red flower" and survive his encounter safely.

Scene 9: Ending and Disembarkation:

Through another turn, we see Mowgli walk into the man village at the break of daylight. Baloo and Bagherra watch, relieved that Mowgli managed to make it out safely. After passing through crash doors, we disembark at the man-village docks, finally putting an end to the adventure of a lifetime.

Conclusion:

The Jungle Book intends to provide a capacity-eating, family friendly attraction for Animal Kingdom, something it really needs for now and the future. It is equivalent to the classic Fantasyland dark rides of yore, but still includes new features to make it a stellar D-ticket addition for Walt Disney World.

I present to you...

Bambi's Floral Free Fall
Coming to Tokyo Disneyland and Disneyland Park in 2022 for the films 70th Anniversary is a brand new flat ride called Bambi's Floral Free Fall. They will be a part of new Bambi themed expansions to Critter Country in both parks, Bambi's Woods. The new attractions will use the same ride system as Toy Soldier Parachute Drop at Disneyland Paris and Hong Kong Disneyland.

The queue for the attraction starts outdoor in a garden. You see many flowers, and even topiaries of Bambi characters. After the garden portion you head inside, where it takes on a foresty look. As you wind through the queue it gets darker and darker, until eventually you can hear the rain. At this point the song Little April Shower starts playing, and you see rain projected on the dark wall. Critters come out to sing along as well, like in the film.

Bambi_Topiaries_(17003515260).jpg

After exiting the queue you see the attraction. Two tall drop towers, that look like spring flowers. The ride vehicles will be themed to alternating white and yellow daisies, and the tower will be themed to the stem of the flower. After exiting the attraction you can enjoy the rest of the mini-land. In this part of the land you can find a gift shop, Flower's Five and Dime, and a quick-service restaurant, The Forest's Garden.

YEAR 4 - The Tri-Wizard Tournament - The First Task
Representing Beauxbatons - MonorailRed

"The First Task will be to replace Dragon Challenge at the Wizarding World of Harry Potter, with another experience. It can be anything."

Replacing Dragon Challenge’s theming and thrill aspect is a tough attraction to replace, though, my solution to bring Universal to the highest possible theming and interactive we’ve seen; it brings tricks from everything Universal has brought to us over the years, such as Halloween Mazes, Poseidon’s Fury, Disaster, and 4D Effects: Tri-Wizard Tournament: The Experience.

Guests will enter a tent through a similar to the one from the Dragon event in the movie, from there, they will be split into halls of tents depending on what school they would rather play for: Durmstrang, Hogwarts, or Beauxbatons. From there, guests will be given interactive wands to use to battle 4D Dragons, Learn spells to help them conquer the black lake (simulators), work with Harry through the 4D maze, help battle Deathearters in the Graveyard, and return back to Hogwarts in one piece.

latest

This attraction will not only please executives for the high tech wand endorsement, but also the hardcore Potter-fans, and also those who crave adventure that the series is known for.

oGcvN1d.gif

All in all, this attraction will be the most technological advanced, interactive, and exploratory aspect in Islands of Adventure.
