If You're From Africa Submission - For Gryffindor!

Being the only Deluxe Resort without a form of transportation other than buses to get to theme parks, Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge will receive a walking path that will connect the resort with its own quaint kiosk to Animal Kingdom similar to the International Gateway for the Epcot Resorts.

The walkway will come with the expansion of the Villas at Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge due to the recent growth of DVC resorts, with the title taken from the African word that embodies community and friendship, Ubuntu Village.

The 0.5 mile walking path will travel through Ubuntu Village and through the expanded savannah, seeing a variety of animals you'll encounter in Africa, and creating a seamless transition to the park. When approaching Africa, guests can stop and read informational signs along the way, teaching them about the continent they will be visiting.

Ultimately, this pathway will offer guests of Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge an exclusive entrance to the park, but also be a cost effective option for Disney, as they wouldn't need to add any form of motorized transportation service.

If You're From Africa Submission- Totally NOT by the Heir of Slytherin.

Let's face it, the Animal Kingdom lodge really needs other forms of transportation to get to nearby Animal Kingdom.

Since any form of walking (Do park guests really want to trek half a mile to start their day?) would be sadly impractical, I chose to take a different route.

Keeping with the African theme of the resort, high capacity safari trucks are added through the back area of the resort, through the connecting, expanded savanna. A new depot station/park entrance is constructed near the Tusker House restaurant, proving a seamless transition into Harambe.

With the new transportation option, the Animal Kingdom Lodge and Animal Kingdom have never felt so connected.

"If You're From Africa Submission" - Gryffindor, baby!

There's a new way to help guests travel from the Animal Kingdom Lodge to the majestic Animal Kingdom park and back- and it's a fun-filled ride like no other.

Borrowing the train concept from "Zootopia", guests will travel on a covered, trackless train that is complete with characters. The digital "windows" of the train will be filled with colorful characters from the hit film traveling with you: and they will wave, smile, and go about their texting.

Once on board, you'll see character cut-outs and animal models filling some of the window seats who "chat" and "discuss" exciting attractions at the park and unique offerings at the Lodge. This form of transportation will not only allow guests staying at the Animal Kingdom Lodge a convenient way to enter the park, but will also entice guests to check out Boma, Sanaa, Jiko, and other top dining locations.
