Okay, some thoughts on Windows 10 now that I've been using it a bit...

Pros:
  • Desktop to tablet mode: A very smooth transition. After being used to Windows 8, it was a bit confusing, but now I see the functionality of it more.
  • Speaking of the desktop, using it with a mouse and keyboard is much nicer than it used to be with 8. It feels very intuitive. Nice that apps now run within the desktop while in desktop mode.
  • Cortana: I find I use her the most when I can't find my app and/or am being extremely lazy.
  • Battery: Now you can see how long it will take for your battery to fully charge, how your battery is being used, and more battery information and settings.
  • Mail: Much nicer. Much faster. Like it much better.
  • Multiple desktops: Possibly my favorite new feature. Much more easy to stay organized while working
  • Action Center: Much improved. Good place to find notifications for all the apps instead of them disappearing into cyberspace
  • Microsoft is listening to us! There is an entire area for feedback. You can make suggestions, and they are publically posted. Then, people can upvote the ones they like. I haven't written any suggestions, but have done a lot of upvoting.
Cons:
  • Battery life on my tablet has not been as good. Reduced memory as well.
  • Why did they move the personalization settings from Control Panel to the new settings menu? Freakin'. Annoying. And more confusing than before.
  • Display driver has now failed twice. Probably will have to reinstall.
  • Netflix tends to freeze
  • Snapping screens is terrible now. Was much better in Windows 8.
  • Sorry Microsoft. After IE, I don't trust Edge. Staying stuck in my ways and using Chrome.
  • Some are reporting no sound after upgrading.

So should you upgrade?
There are definitely still bugs in Windows 10, but overall, it's a solid operating system. If you have Windows 8 and hate it with a passion, go ahead and upgrade now. If you have Windows 7 or don't particularly dislike Windows 8, you might want to wait until there are a few more updates. Like I said, some are reporting no sound, and there are definitely driver issues for some (like the display driver on mine)

I used Windows 8 on my laptop after getting Windows 10. That was when I realized what an improvement Windows 10 is

No, I haven't read anything about it either. Only know because people have been talking about it. I didn't even know he had a name (the lion that is).
I read a one sentence summary and just felt sick about it. Then, I was hanging around some friends today, and my one friend started telling me and my other friend about it. She tends to not pay attention to the news or the internet, and I haven't been following that story at all because it makes me nauseated to even think about. After that conversation, we were both horrified, and now I refuse to read any more about it. Ugh.

Aw, how cute! We stayed at both AK & BLT on our recent trip - loved both of them, but loved BLT more. :inlove:

I have never stayed at BLT but have stayed at AK. I have mixed emotions about AK a lovely hotel, not overly impressed with the rooms or the commute to most of the parks. Loved the pool and the QS was the best and bonus pool side.

I love the Contemporary for the room sizes and convenience. Still it is really too busy of a resort for me, so many people all the time and it even loud late evening, even worse during a mega rainstorm. Betting BLT is better with the crowds thing, the set up of the units though is lets say different. I like the Wilderness, but I hear they are going to start messing with that resort and sightlines very very soon.

I really enjoyed the themeing of AK - we stayed at Kidani - and didn't think the commute was too bad to the parks. We had a rental car and while it was convenient, we didn't like having to wait for the tram at MK plus the car was so hot when we left the park we had to wait several minutes for the A/C to cool it off! We much preferred the instant A/C on the buses. :D

BLT was definitely much less manic than Contemporary, and I'm very sensitive to noise but had no problem sleeping, which is rare for me at hotels. I love having a kitchen and washer/dryer in the unit.

I haven't been to Wilderness yet, but I'm interested to see how it's going to turn out.

Geez. There seems to be more outrage around here over the lion than when people get slaughtered by murderers and terrorists on a daily basis. I guess we are all just used to people getting killed that we are numb to it.

The best way I can compartmentalize is there is lots to be upset about in this world of ours. None necessarily more outrageous than the other when looked at individually as they tend to be all horrific. I look at starving children and am equally sickened. I see entire families homeless here and living under a viaduct in our lovely country and it makes me sad or mentally altered people who go on rampages 'cause privacy laws keep those closest to them ignorant. It is all bad and all so out of my direct control.

Yet today I read about a young Downs Syndrome child who saved her 3 year old sister from drowning in a pool and I have faith again.
It is how I cope with our world, good and bad.

Um, you sound like my DS. Math whiz, but doesn't like it.

My DD majored in both Math and Statistics in college. She isn't overly fond of math either but loves statistics. Her brain is just wired in that math direction. That gene pool came from her Dad. I start to get to heavily into math and I can hear my brain ping. Now statistics I love.

Last time I went to Red Robin, I thought it would be a nice treat for my DS. I didn't realize they had jacked the prices, beyond Disney. 2 burgers with bottomless fries, and 2 drinks. Our bill was $42. And we only each got a small thing of fries. The fact that the waitress didn't refill them, or even start us with a basket sealed it. No more Red Robin.
Edit- in reply to @MickeyMouseGal

We were at Red Robin this week and we noticed the price hike too, like $3 a burger. I upgraded my fries to the garlic ones and the cheese and toppings only hit the top 3 fries. I took issue, they brought me another basket however by the time it came we were finished. I'm disappointed.

Plus they added gourmet burgers at an even higher price that are not gourmet burgers more like Disney gourmet chicken dogs. Gourmet burger to me starts with it being a Kobe Burger, Red Robin is not that.

I don't know about that. I think maybe people are angry because they feel this person should have known better, but when it's something like Sandy Hook, people may not be as angry because mental illness was a factor. Although there was outrage toward the mother of that murderer, since she taught him how to shoot, knew he was sick, and didn't do anything about it.

Being upset about the lion doesn't imply complacency with the violence against people in the world. I think all of here find violence disturbing.
