List of rides and their letter grade?

All the Avatarland talk made me curious about what the current rides at WDW have for letter grades. The E ticket rides are pretty simple to figure out but I'm lost when it comes to the other rides. I was doing a google search last night but couldn't find anything on official grades. Does a list with this information exist?

Well. Here is an image of all the tickets and corresponding attractions. :)

An up to date list for each park would be a great thing to have. It certainly would help with fast pass planning, especially for first time visitors to the parks or for someone who has not recently been there.

As already mention, there are no letter designations anymore.

The letter designations for attractions for rides built after 1982 that get thrown around the boards here are also opinions since the ticket books were discontinued after Epcot opened and WDW went to a flat rate ride all you want pricing.

I think you're missing the point, Bee. Categorizing attractions by letter is really a concept of the past (pre-1980's IIRC), when you had to have a certain ticket to get into the attraction. You would buy books of these and use them as you wanted. Think of it like local traveling carnivals. You pay nothing (or a very small fee) for admission, but have to buy tickets to ride. Some rides require more tickets than others.

So, even though we all might have our opinions about what type of letter a new attraction might get, Disney does not assign letters any more.

For fast pass (FP+) planning, the WDW site does include lists of attractions that use FP+ so that you can plan accordingly.

And just for the sake of argument :cautious: , if Country Bear Jamboree or Hall of Presidents could be (and were) be an E-ticket, 7DMT could easily have been an E-ticket. E-Ticket did not equate to big roller coaster.

As already mention, there are no letter designations anymore.

I honestly had no idea that's where the whole letter grade system came from. I always thought it was just theme park terminology used industry wide. Guess I was a little off in that assumption .

There should be a special ticket classification for Stitch's Great Escape where WDW pays the guest to experience the attraction.

One ride was missing...The Swan ride!Jim
And one of my favourites, If You Had Wings! Which was a free ride and didn't need a ticket. (Which partly explains its popularity with me! Always walk-on, always free)

CoP too, and the Walt Disney Story, and some others. Some of the finest attractions were not part of the ticket system, making them even better.

As a kid, there was nothing more frustrating than being told you had to ride the carousel because all of the B, C, D & E tickets were gone and it was our last day.

Once someone handed us ticket books they were not using since it was THEIR last day and it was FULL of E's. It was like winning the lottery.

I'm guessing that back in the day those ticket books worked to spread out guests and keep wait times low.

Your list illustrates how opinions about attraction categorization do not align with how Disney originally assigned tickets to the attractions. Based on the pictures of actual tickets posted earlier in the thread, you got quite a few wrong. Consider just one example: Hall of Presidents was an E-Ticket.

In my opinion, it was an E-Ticket based on the time period and what else was available. Think about it. It was unique to WDW only. It featured a ton of animatronics, and there wasn't much else in the park. So, I wouldn't necessarily say that I am wrong.

The letter designations on occasion were changed on attractions. The tickets were used as a crude form of crowd control. As many people today do not believe that Toy Story would be considered an "E" Ticket attraction, with it's high level of popularity and lengthy wait times it would most likely receive an "E" ticket designation and the same with Peter Pans Flight.

While true - the ticket level had everything to do with the scale, scope, and cost of the attraction. Your assertion that there wasn't much else to do in the park is way off. Look at the ticket picture I posted in post #2!

D-Tickets : Tiki Room, Tom Sawyer's Island, River Boats, Sky Way, Mission to Mars, Starjets
E-Tickets: Pirates, Jungle Cruise, Haunted Mansion, Hall Of Presidents, Small World, 20k Leagues, Space Mountain

Imagine if DHS and DAK had a similar lineup of D-E Tickets.
