We are staying at the Wilderness Lodge and it looks like the nature path runs to Fort Wilderness on the map?? If it does how long of a walk is it? I would love to walk over and show DD the horses. Thanks :)

It's not a long walk at all - very pretty. We shared the path with 3 deer last time we did it. You can also take a boat over there if you don't want to walk.

The nature trail from Wilderness Lodge to Fort Wilderness is about a mile. See this Google Map: http://goo.gl/maps/K0w3B

Here's a map of the jogging trail: http://www.wdwmagic.com/other/joggi...011-resort-jogging-and-running-maps/14162.htm

If you take the bus from the Wilderness Lodge to the Outpost Depot at Fort Wilderness Campground, it will drop you off right next to Trail Blaze Corral where they have the horses. You can get a pretty close look at them - it's pretty cool. Then you can just take the bus from there to wherever you are headed.

Great walking trail. A little shade but not as much as you might expect for a walk through the trees. Plus, once you get to Fort Wilderness, you can always take a boat back to the WL if you so choose. We usually try to walk it once or twice a trip as it is a nice getaway.
